    Couch Potatoes Unite!

    by

    Since May 27, 2021 17:56 UTC

A podcast for TV fans of all types! Nothing beats relaxing on the couch and turning on the boob tube. We’re avid television watchers, and we’re here to appreciate the unique, long form storytelling of TV, as we get engrossed in characters, plot lines, and events of many shows and programs (and types and genres of those shows and programs). Here at CPU!, we are not about hyper-analysis of each episode. We are reacting as TV fans would react, for better or for worse, about whole seasons, half seasons, special event episodes, or even entire runs of shows. We sit “around the water cooler” to talk new TV, Look Back at shows of yesteryear, and have series covering our favorites in more detail. Couch Potatoes Unite! is hosted (as a blog and podcast) at couchpotatoesunite.wordpress.com. Also, find us on Facebook, Twitter (@cpupodcast), Instagram (@couchpotatoesunite), and Pinterest (@cpupodcast). Come join us around the Water Cooler. Maybe we’ll be chatting about one of YOUR favorite shows.

Teaching Is A Work Of Heart

Teaching Is A Work Of Heart

    by

    Since Jun 9, 2021 03:30 UTC

The head and the heart are two very important elements to effective teaching and true learning. The head uses thinking to figure out how we will teach and the heart uses our sense of connection to the children, the methods and the materials we use. In my experience relationships and connections are key to learning. Children learn in different ways, so the material has to be taught in different ways. Let’s explore different ways to make that connection!

    My Lighter Way

    by

    Since Feb 15, 2022 19:02 UTC

A next-level self-development podcast about Motherhood, Mindset and Manifesting. Expand your mindset (start before you even get pregnant), soak in the entire journey of motherhood, and consciously create the life you LOVE. Motherhood is the biggest personal growth journey of our lives. It requires us to expand beyond ourselves, heal as we go, and find an inner commitment to do the best we can at each step of the way. It is not for the faint of heart, but we can do it! And we can do it with more joy, ease, and self-compassion than we ever thought possible. With some fun, a willingness to learn, and a healthy dose of curiosity, we’ll explore what it really looks like to enjoy pregnancy, birth, the newborn stage, and beyond. It doesn’t mean we won’t face any struggle, but we will bring a lens of growth and resilience to all of it. Dr. Emma Nagy is a Mama, has her PhD in Mental Health Promotion, is currently a Motherhood Mindset Mentor, Published Author and the CEO of My Lighter Way. When you expand the love you feel for yourself, you create a motherhood journey and life that feels even better than you can ever imagine. The impact that the inner work has on your children, your relationships, and your life then ripples out beyond conception. It all starts with you. Let’s dive in and get ready to expand the ripple effect you have in this world.

Information Ecosystems: A Sawyer Seminar at the University of Pittsburgh

    by

    Since Nov 22, 2019 16:34 UTC

The InfoEco project seeks to advance a deeply powerful understanding of where data comes from and how it is used, setting the present moment within a century-long history of information supply and its power-laden consequences. At a moment when societies are in urgent need of guidance to navigate rapidly shifting digital terrain, we are coming together to build a deep understanding of the social and political life of data. In the 2022-2023 Academic Year, we are proud to present a series of podcasts documenting the Data Science 4 Social Justice (DS4SJ) project here at the University of Pittsburgh. One of Pitt’s goals is to leverage knowledge—through teaching, research, and community service—for society’s gain. The dominance of the digital sphere, the upheaval of civic life, and the role of technology in accelerating systemic inequality create an unprecedented opportunity to apply “use-driven data science” for social impact. This year, we will hear from numerous members of this project, from Pitt and beyond, about the ways that data science can facilitate a more equitable society.
