A throwback podcast where a millennial throws it back to a simpler time in pop culture and media. Well, not simpler, but definitely different. Travel back in time with me as I discuss movies, music, and major events from years past. For more information and to support the podcast go to www.anchor.fm/throwingitback Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/throwingitback/support

In this episode, I talk about two TV shows that I watched around the same time in my life but they had very different effects on my life and perception of the world around me. Queer as Folk gave me characters and stories to attach and speak through my own sexual identity and Six Feet Under help me talk about difficult things such as death and the hardships around it. They both brought to life stories that will forever have an impact on my life and artistic output.

    Cocktail Theology

    Cocktail Theology

    by

    Since Aug 16, 2018 08:00 UTC

Life and God from a very broadly Christian perspective, with no filter, over cocktails. Progressive, Biblically grounded, LGBTQ-affirming, candid discussions about faith, life, politics, roller coasters, sex, and anything else that matters. ABOUT THE HOSTS Benton Stokes is a songwriter, a recording artist, an author, a worship leader, a podcaster, a collector of comic books, a lover of roller coasters, a dad, a friend, and (with ministry partner Elane O’Rourke) half of School For Seekers. Benton has a passion for helping post-Evangelicals, particularly queer men, find their way to healthy theology and healing perspectives. Benton co-hosts (with Elane) Cocktail Theology — a podcast that tackles topics such as defining what an abomination actually is, exploring why Christians and science are at odds all the time, and reclaiming Christian-ese language like “born again.” All while sipping tasty libations. Rev. Dr. Elane O’Rourke is a spiritual director, lifelong teacher, theologian, mom, contemplative, Enneagram 1, and a bunch of the things Benton wrote. She was a philosophy prof for a decade, a pastor for another decade, and the instigator of School For Seekers since 2014. Elane’s first book was A Dallas Willard Dictionary, written to explain the difficult words of Christian philosopher Dallas Willard, which may explain her role in the podcast she co-hosts with Benton, Cocktail Theology. Elane’s deepest desire, and life’s work, is for you to believe that you are God’s cherished and beloved child, worthy of care and respect. The Fast 5 Minute Podcast

    by

    Since Apr 7, 2021 23:39 UTC

Stone and Gard are two best friends who don’t know a thing about cars, but know a whole lot about movies. Stone knows he likes the Fast and Furious franchise, Gard… is on the fence. After arguing about the film’s ad nauseum, the two decided to put things to the test once and for all, and to take you along for the ride. Join weekly as they watch the Fast and Furious movies in 5 minute segments and dissect that week’s five minutes over the course of a half hour. It’s probably the worst way to watch a movie ever conceived, but hey, we like to live our lives a quarter mile at a time. Hey! Want tweets as Fast and Furious, (and weird), as this podcast? Follow our socials. https://linktr.ee/TheFast5Pod

Who Are the 12 Tribes of Israel: Then & Now

Who Are the 12 Tribes of Israel: Then & Now

    by

    Since Jan 4, 2014 13:13 UTC

The children of Israel suffered under many captivities. Ten tribes were taken away during the Assyrian Empire, never to be seen again. These are the so called lost tribes of Israel. The ones that remained, of the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi were occupied by foreign nations and by many captivities. They were finally taken away under the Roman Empire after Jerusalem was destroyed in AD 70. What happened to the children of the promise? They were taken captive by their enemies and sold into Egypt for the prosperous slave trade. Later they were sold as slaves into Africa, beyond the rivers of Ethiopia as the bible tells us. Eventually they reached Africa’s western coast having mingled through the centuries with these nations. They forgot their name, their nation, their language, and their history. They forgot the holy oracles and served the gods of their captivity. They were finally brought as slaves to the new world. The so called black or African American suffered under the worse slavery in history. Why would something so terrible happen to the children of God?

Our events are intimate and intellectual, quirky yet curated, and dedicated to social justice. We curate our events to juxtapose novelists and activists, poets and intellectuals, and bring together people who usually wouldn’t be in the same room. We’ve got it all: from avant-garde poetry to post-colonial politics, feminist comics to lyric verse, literary fiction to dispatches from the left. A sanctuary for the immigrant imagination, we believe Asian American stories deserve to be told. Learn more by visiting aaww.org Produced by the Asian American Writers’ Workshop.

    What Is Cooper?

    by

    Since Oct 5, 2022 09:11 UTC

    What Is Copper?

Copper is a transition metal that, at room temperature and in its natural state, is in a solid state. Its chemical symbol is Cu and its atomic number is 29.

Copper is a resistant and very hard metal, however, it is not one of the hardest in nature. It has the ability to resist shocks, pulling and pushing forces, cuts or physical alterations in general. However, it is a metal that, like many existing metals, is brittle if subjected to extreme low temperatures.
