    Book of Jude

    Book of Jude

    by

    Since Feb 24, 2022 06:00 UTC

Book of Jude is a series of discussions between myself, singer, songwriter – Jude Johnstone, and my daughter, 27 year old singer, songwriter – Ray Duncan, about the songs, stories, thoughts and experiences from my many years in the music business. We start from the beginning, growing up in Maine, playing in a top forty band, meeting Clarence Clemons on a plane, spending time in NYC and New Jersey under his wing, attending the famous No Nukes concerts at Madison Square Garden, watching Bruce Springsteen record “The River”, and then moving to Los Angeles in 1979. From there we delve into making demos, playing clubs, singing backup vocals, signing my first publishing deal, and getting my first songs covered by well known artists. Ray asks me questions about how each of those early experiences educated and shaped me. We also touch on some of the mistakes I made and how to avoid them. We discuss my choice to eventually leave LA for the Central Coast of CA to raise a family, while releasing 8 albums, touring Europe, opening shows for some of my heroes and finally moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 2015.

    Billy Joel A to Z

    Billy Joel A to Z

    by

    Since Apr 2, 2021 01:50 UTC

A funny and informative podcast discussing every Billy Joel song from A to Z.

I’m Elon Altman — and I’m Dave Juskow — and this is the Billy Joel A to Z Podcast. We’re two comedians who love Billy Joel. We enjoy praising his great songs and ripping on, well, you know, “All You Wanna Do is Dance” 😉

We are going to review and talk about every song Billy Joel has ever written. We had the idea to do this podcast because we wanted to talk about “Zanzibar,” but, unfortunately we decided to go through Billy Joel’s catalog alphabetically, so expect our “Zanzibar” discussion in two years. Every episode we do a deep dive into a particular song. We talk rankings, make fun of Billy’s hilarious music videos, tell funny stories, and do trivia and song parodies too.

So join us on this fun journey with new song episodes every Tuesday.

Some of our research and content comes from a terrific site called – https://www.onefinalserenade.com/

Check it out for all your Billy Joel needs

Scratch a Track: Presented by The Dude and Grimm Show

    by

    Since Apr 9, 2020 18:00 UTC

In this podcast we review and discuss music with a focus on albums both new and old. Each week we select an album, give commentary on the history of the album and band, and ultimately decide which track we would scratch off. Back in the day when CDs and Vinyl records were the main ways of consuming music the downside was they would get scratched. The worst part was it would often happen to one of your favorite songs. In this game you get to choose the track you would scratch off. It’s a fun game to play and will certainly stir up debate among your friends and music fans alike. Happy Scratching!
