Rodge is a name most clubbing aficionados of the world know and respect. His success in the Middle East has become legendary, netting him the opening slot at major concert events including Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Lopez in Dubai and in Egypt as well as Martin Garrix, The Scorpions, Sia, Sean Paul, Shakira, Chris Brown, The Chainsmokers, Enrique Iglesias, Jason Derulo, Bryan Adams, David Guetta, Kygo, Armin Van Buuren, just to name a few. Moreover, he played at Pia Mia’s Birthday Party in Hyde, Las Vegas.

Done Looking For Love was his first single, hitting 2.5-million downloads, making it the biggest track ever released by a regional DJ on Anghami (the main streaming app of the ME). R Kelly’s I Believe I Can Fly’s official cover dance version featuring UK band Rough copy reached over half a million downloads. His 3rd single, Words reached Number 1 in the weekly Lebanese chart and was Number 4 on Lebanon’s 2017 year-end chart. His pop hit ft LA based singer Meerah “One Night” reached number 1 on Lebanon’s Official Chart as well as on SHAZAM for 2 weeks. One Night also crossed 1 million downloads on Anghami. Rodge was chosen to remix the official 3 Daqat (by Abu ft Yusra) dance mix, the song crossed 100 million views on YouTube. Rodge released his summer single “In Dreams” featuring “Tim Morrison” with an upscale video shot in Mykonos. He also reworked La Casa De Papel’s iconic song “Bella Ciao” with the Italian opera trio “Tre Tenori” on vocals. Rodge also remixed “Drunk Groove” by Maruv & Boosin that topped the charts in Ukraine and was number 3 in Russia, with a video that made waves on YouTube. Rodge continues to top the charts on Podomatic and Mixcloud with his weekly uploaded sets, holding the number 1 spot for foreign music. His single “Beirut” has topped Lebanon’s official top 20 chart for 2 consecutive weeks and remains one of the most popular and requested songs in Lebanon. In Summer 2018, he added 3 major hits to his catalogue: “It starts with love” with famous dance music voice Gary Pine, “Light up the sky” featuring Joe Kellington, which was chosen as the official fireworks show song at the Jounieh Festival and “I Say A Little Prayer” that was a tribute to Aretha Franklin. Rodge collaborated with one of his favorite 80’s singers, the legendary Chris de Burgh, on an exclusive track; He chose to remix “Revolution”, a track on which his signature twist infuses positive energy and light to dancefloors around the region. Rodge also gave the remix treatment to “Ya Sidi” by French band Orange Blossom. Already making waves with listeners across the region, Rodge’s remix of “Ya Sidi” became another music sensation. On February 14th, Rodge kicked off 2019 in fine form, with the release of his long-awaited new single “Never Knew about Love”, just in time to woo his large fan base on Valentine’s day. In summer 2019, Rodge released his latest single “Make Me Feel” featuring Sibbyl, which is currently number 1 on Lebanon’s Official Chart.

A born perfectionist, Rodge is driven by an undying passion for music. He launched his own radio station in 1996 and Mix-FM has since helped shape the musical landscape of Lebanon. It also serves as a springboard to his ever-increasing fame throughout the Middle East. His massive following insures packed houses at every performance.
Easily the most celebrated DJ in the region, Rodge has multiple weekly residencies in Lebanon like Thursdays at BO18 Beirut, Fridays at The Village Dbayeh, Saturdays at Igloo Mzaar.
All these sold-out venues predictably resulted with Rodge being awarded “Best DJ and Club Promoter” by the Syndicate of Clubs and Restaurants of Lebanon in both 2016 and 2017. In summer 2017, he was given the title of “Ambassador of Culture and Music to the Youth” by the students of the universities social club.

In 2018, Rodge hosted the official party of the iconic Jounieh International Festival fireworks show in July, he also presented his first ever live act music showcase in August at the Ehdeniyat festival with guest singers “Snap!” And “Gary Pine”.
In September 2018, Rodge was also selected as the official DJ for two massive events that were aired live on TV. He headlined the opening ceremony of the FIBA World Cup qualifier’s game between China and Lebanon that was broadcasted live on LBCI and performed Live on stage at Miss Lebanon 2018 on MTV.
Also, in September, he travelled to Montreal for LDE MTL, to play at the Next Gen party, hosted by the Lebanese Diaspora Energy in North America at the Palais des Congress.
And performed at the after party of the second edition of the highly acclaimed El Gouna film festival, in Ancient Sands in Egypt.
On the international concert front, Rodge opened for Martin Garrix at the Byblos International Festival and he also opened for Jennifer Lopez in Egypt.
Rodge is not only passionate about music, but is also a very compassionate soul, who loves working for the cause.
He is heavily involved in supporting NGO’s, locally and globally. He was chosen to be the ambassador of the Brave Heart Association – a foundation that helps cure children with heart disease.
He is also a board member of Animals Lebanon, a foundation that aids in saving and sheltering animals of all kinds. His commitment to charity extends to several other foundations like SOS, CCCL and many more.
In 2018, Rodge added new roles to his social and charity activities. He was named road safety advocate by Kunhadi.

Subscribe now to the new podcast, A Cosmic Void starring Alex Biggs Small and Jeremiah Perez! Here’s a taste of one episode, there’s more on the feed and many more to come. This episode is about the Alex Garland instant classic: Ex Machina. We dissect the movie going scene by scene uncovering the themes that run beneath. We discuss the feminist reading of this movie, the allusions to literature and history, and discuss the slightly ahead of it’s time presentation of the danger of data mining. And of course we list movies that informed it, as well as movies influenced by it. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

Having said that, we do want to provde the listener with as comfortable a listening experiences as possible, so not every interview that we do as FaceCulture will find its way to the podcast. MY 90s MUSIC PODCAST

    MY 90s MUSIC PODCAST

    by

    Since Jul 30, 2020 09:27 UTC

Welcome to My 90s Music Podcast with me Mark McC. I will be bringing you regular chats with the very best musicians and scene-sters from the 90s. This podcast will be chocked full with your heroes and the people you loved and still love from The 90s. People who’s music or voices were never too far away from your ears and those who adorned your school books and you had plastered all over your bedroom walls. I will chat to the 90s superstars who lived it, loved it and who were truly in the eye of the storm. Guests will include those who were the soundtrack to your youth or formative years as you discovered the very best bands, best music tracks, best music scenes and best gigs as you partied your way through the best decade of your life. Our parents and our grandparents had the 60s, we luckily had the 90s. What a time to be alive and what a time to look back on the trials, tribulations and triumphs of a decade that will never sound, smell or feel like that ever again. The first 5 episodes of My 90s Music Podcast will be with: Alan McGee of Creation Records and signing Oasis fame. Steve Hamilton who is a famous sax player and composer who recorded and or toured with bands like Blur, Radiohead and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Mark Bedford who is Madness Bass Player and Founder member. Chris Helme – Seahorses front man and singer songwriter in his own right And Scottish National Treasure Duglas T. Stewart who is BMX bandits frontman and long time friend and collaborator with members of Teenage Fanclub, Superstar, Soup Dragons and many more of the Belshill Music Glitterati. For those of you who don’t know me, here is a little bit about me… I’m Mark McC, your host and I am stuck somewhere between 1989 and the early 2000s. I was always obsessed with the music of the 1990s since hearing She Bangs the Drums and Step On in a mate’s sister’s bedroom record player (she was out) when I was 14. I worked at Our Price Records in Irvine and Kilmarnock in the west coast of Scotland during school and University which gave me a proper schooling in music and opened my eyes to every genre and decade (but the alternative and mainstream 90s music was where I felt most at home). I was 16 when Britpop kicked off in 1992 with Blur and Suede and 18 when Liam and Noel launched the song that changed everything Supersonic. At the end of the 90s I moved from Ayrshire to The big Smoke, to London, to start working with some of the big music magazines like (NME, LOADED, MELODY MAKER, MUZIK and UNCUT) in the late 90s and never looked back (apart from my music tastes). My 90s Podcast is almost here. Please subscribe, tell your 90s loving friends to subscribe too. My 90s Music Podcast with me Mark McC first 5 episodes will be with you very soon. So stayed tuned on social media and your preferred podcast platform for more news. To make sure you don’t miss an episode of My 90s Music Podcast, please do follow @my90smusicpodcast on twitter, facebook, Instagram for more information.
