On this podcast we’ll be bringing together the best lessons from psychology with holistic approaches to mental health and healing. By bridging the gap between mental health and spirituality, we can find new opportunities to heal from trauma, live in loving relationship, and reduce our suffering. Specific focuses include complex PTSD, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and finding a personal practice that works for you. My name’s Elizabeth Ferreira, and I’m a somatic psychotherapist in training currently earning hours toward my license. My approach is holistic, non-judgmental, and centered in the belief that all beings have the capacity to heal, grow, and reduce suffering.

“Contemplate This!” features talks and guided meditations with Dr. Tom Bushlack, plus interviews with guests. Interviews feature leaders and teachers of contemplative practices (mindfulness, meditation, contemplative prayer, etc.) in order to learn about their history, how they became involved in contemplation, what their daily practice looks like, how they teach and share the fruits of contemplation with others – and most importantly – how their practice has transformed them and inspired their work to transform others and the world around them.

If God is interacting with you, would you notice? Can you learn to recognize and respond to God in your story — in your everyday, ordinary life? Let’s find out from other people who are curious like you! We’ll hear from people who have recognized what God is up to in the midst of the mundane, joyful, painful and profound moments of life, and sensed God with them, in them, and for them. Some found encouragement, healing, hope, redemption, restoration, new perspectives or direction at life’s crossroads — sometimes in surprising ways.

Listen as podcast Host Sharon Swing and Co-Hosts Joan Kelley, Sibyl Towner and Lori Shoults interview people who have reviewed their life story using ‘Listen to My Life’ maps. We’ll talk with authors, pastors, artists or anyone with an interesting story about God’s small voice stirring their souls. To find out more about the ‘Listen to My Life’ maps or submit your story for a potential future episode, go to www.onelifemaps.com/podcast to learn more.
