Save Your Sanity – Help for Toxic Relationships

Save Your Sanity – Help for Toxic Relationships

    by

    Since Aug 9, 2016 00:54 UTC

The Save Your Sanity podcast offers episodes filled with the expert insights, validation, strategies, and support you need to recognize, manage, and recover from relationships with the relentlessly difficult, toxic–and often disturbing–people that host Dr. Rhoberta Shaler calls Hijackals®.

She offers invaluable help to stop the second-guessing, undermining, and crazy-making traits, patterns, and cycles you have encountered in relationships with folks like those. Understand the ways, whys, and hows that verbal abuse, emotional abuse, and spiritual abuse affect you over time. Whether the Hijackal is a partner, parent, ex, or colleague, what you will learn here will strengthen and empower you to step up, speak up, and stand up for yourself in healthy, assertive ways.

Many Hijackals have behaviors that are considered the same as those who are diagnosed as narcissists, borderlines, psychopaths, sociopaths, and histrionic personality disorder. These insights will help you to make the changes–and good decisions–to move from pain to power, and that’s exactly what you want to do! Listen now.

Lessons My Father Never Taught Me

Lessons My Father Never Taught Me

    by

    Since Oct 15, 2018 16:26 UTC

I always struggled growing up, and even today. I’d look around and think, “Why does that seem easier for that person to do than for me?” Even though it is unfair to compare ourselves to others, we do it and we all do it. As I started thinking about this, I realized that maybe part of it for me was that I grew up without a father and learned or didn’t learn things I needed to know to more easily “be” in life. Life felt like doing. Then, I started talking to others, and it seemed like I was not alone. This podcast is for us. In each episode, my guests will openly share the impact, gifts and struggles they’ve been experiencing ever since childhood, and how they’ve created their own lessons as they forged forward as adults. Lessons they want to share with you. There’s no dad bashing. No mom bashing. Just pure vulnerability and valuable insights on topics that really matter and that no one really openly discusses. It’s my first podcast, so keep in mind it will get better with time. I hope you stick it out. The stories I’m working on are fascinating and insightful, and I truly want to help people, so it’s all coming from my heart. Thank you!
