Tom and Dan were once sitting in a hotel room in Daytona Beach, Florida where the air-condition didn’t work, they were out of beer, and the cable only had 2 channels that came in static free. One of their friends suggested that they leave and attempt to find something better to do to which Dan replied “Why would we want to ruin a mediocre time?” If you were to ask “Tom and Dan” what the meaning of life is, they might tell you that there is none. Born from a feeling that nothing in life truly matters and that for the most part we’re all surrounded by scumbags, “Tom and Dan” figured out that there’s only one true constant in life; laughter. How did they come to that conclusion? It’s all they have. You see, just like the mass majority of us, “T & D” have day jobs and it was at said day job where they cued in on the fact that some of the greatest laughs came at the end of the day. There’s just something about the relaxed feeling of knowing that you have very little time left at work to put in. Maybe it’s the “punch drunkenness” of still being at work; no one is quite sure. There they sat in their office, the door shut to their co-workers and management, only making each other laugh to the point of tears. Finally they realized that it might not be such a bad idea to roll tape on these conversations. Why not? They would be having them anyway, taped or not, and it was fun. Both of them come from rather lengthy broadcasting careers so setting up a home studio wasn’t so hard to do. And with the addition of Ross, the consummate straight man and “News Dad”, things got even more “mediocre.” Broadcasting since 2009 has garnered a rather extensive following for “T & D” with loyal “scumbags” (as their listeners are affectionately known) checking in from all across the world. Hundreds of shows under their belts and winners of the Orlando Weekly’s “Best of Orlando 2011” for “Best Kept Secret” reassures them both that yes…no one is listening! (Best Kept Secret? HA!)

Vince Thomas was born and raised in Detroit, MI, he enrolled in Jackson State University to acquire a degree in Business Administration and to play collegiate baseball. Sensing the call of God upon his life, he began to volunteer in his local church. In 2006, Vincent made a bold decision to attend Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, OK. Upon graduating in 2008, he immediately came back to work in full-time ministry. Vincent has been ordained and licensed since 2008, and has the commission to go into every man’s world to teach, preach, and speak the gospel. Vincent has served in leadership in multiple capacities in the local church ranging from Children’s Church, Youth Department, Campus Ministry, Outreach, Singles, and other areas called upon. Vincent has been married to his wife Ashley since November 2010. His goal is to be a person after God’s own heart by continuing to remain faithful to the call of God and fulfilling God’s plan for his life.

Stephanie had not heard about Veronica Mars until the show had already been canceled. Friends began telling stories about how fans had hired a plane to fly a banner over the CW offices that said “Renew Veronica Mars” and about their campaign where fans sent well over 10,000 “Mars Bars” to the CW network executives. These stories certainly peaked Stephanie’s interest and she began watching the show from the beginning. She was hooked. It was not until the 2013 Kickstarter Campaign where the show’s creator announced that he had struck a deal with Warner Brothers to bring closure to the Veronica story in the form of a movie. However, there was one stipulation. He had to raise 2 Million Dollars from fans of the show for the to studio move forward. Stephanie and I watched as the kickstarter campaign was successfully funded with more than 2 million dollars in pledges within the first 24 hours. Of course, Stephanie was one of those backers. When I (Cliff) saw that a total of 91,585 fans donated over 5.7 million dollars to this campaign, I was convinced that now was the time to see what is so special about this tv show. And that, my friends, is why the Veronica Mars Fan Podcast exists. Converging Streams began as a series of Interfaith radio programs that were initially produced by the Muncie Interfaith Fellowship and The Unitarian Universalist Church of Muncie between 2004 and 2005; we have since moved our program online and occasionally will introduce new topics. The goal of the program is to promote dialogue and ultimately understanding among the diverse faith traditions within the Muncie and greater East Central community, with Rev.
