I don’t do small talk I do big talk, so if you’re talkin small, you might want to leave. Kim Davis is a master’s student at the University of Chicago, an artist, writer, activist, podcaster, youtube, tarot reader, witch, psychic, and a million other things that would be too vain to list. Welcome to Geeks in the Greenroom, a podcast by and for theater geeks with your host Heather Morrison (hey, Ma, that’s me!). In each episode, I interview an actor, writer, dancer, singer, director, costume designer, triple threats, multi-talents, and all sorts of creatives. They share career journeys, confide their fails, wins, and surprises. I may even convince some to do a time step. What respectable Greenroom hang would be complete without a little light swearing, weird backstage rituals, and tails of showmances?

Navigating body image can be hard. How we feel about ourselves and our bodies plays a big part in our health and wellbeing. There is so much pressure to conform ourselves to what we see instead of esteeming ourselves in who we are. We hope this content is relatable and can open a bigger conversation of positive body image in your safe space.

If you are a manager on the front-lines, how do you make the best decisions for your business? How do we reconcile descending from South Asian indentured labour while living in diaspora with many layers of migration? How do we indenture descendants relate or not relate to ancestral homelands on the South Asian subcontinent? What does it mean to be Indian? What does “Indian” mean? And how do these meanings change across migrations of time and space? There is no one answer, let alone a correct answer. These meanings are fluid. The beauty is that these stories are not monoliths–every individual has a unique experience to share. Join us in discovering them!

If you listen to them ten times, you will learn 2000 german words by heart. Keep your eyes on the pdfs at least two times while listening. Don’t listen to them in a row, spread over 30 days. For example, listen to 1-650 today, then 651-1300 tomorrow, and 1301-2000 the next day. But don’t be stressed; you can spread like that over 60 or 90 days. Moreover, try to pronounce them while your eyes on them. It helps you to recall the words easily. Also, try to listen before bedtime; your brain will repeat these words until you wake up. (play at x1.25 speed)

How about a time machine: A deep bite into history is a dance/performance history podcast featuring Diego Romero and Arash khakpour. This podcast arose from their unified interest and lack of knowledge on the evolution of the contemporary dance and performing arts in Canada. We interview the artists that have, and continue to push the shifting landscape of this scene. Each podcast is conducted in our formal and dry-fashioned manners, why? we don’t know, possibly due to our juvenility and terrible aesthetic taste. None the less, over coffee and croissants we curate the space for the artists’ stories to be told.
