Welcome to Venture in the South, a podcast devoted to Startup investing in the southern US. Co-hosts Paul Clark and David Grisell have over 100 startup investments between them. They will share their own experience, interview thought leaders in the startup ecosystem and interview founders from the startups in their portfolio and a few that aren’t. Shows are released every Monday and are about 30-40 minutes long. We plan about 50% of shows to be Founder interviews, 25% interviews with Startup ecosystem thought leaders and about 25% educational on topics specific to startup founding and investing. Jack Riccardi has been a talk show host on 550 KTSA since July 1999, after hosting mid-days on another San Antonio talk station, WOAI for five years. Jack started in radio while attending Boston University, and worked at the former WVBF-FM, WXLO-FM, WZOU-FM as well as radio stops at WJYY-FM in New Hampshire and hosting a talk show at WGY Schenectady, NY 1991-94. In Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion, philosopher David Hume examines whether belief in God can be rational. The work takes the form of a debate between three characters: Cleanthes, who argues that the existence and nature of God can be empirically verified; Demea, who argues that God is completely beyond human knowledge; and Philo, a philosophical skeptic widely thought to represent Hume’s own beliefs. Much of the debate centers around Cleanthes’ presentation of the analogical argument from design. According to this argument, the complexity and beauty of the universe can only be explained by inferring an intelligent designer, in the same way that one would infer a designer if one came across an intricately complicated machine. Philo presents several objections to this argument, with rejoinders by Cleanthes and occasional interjections by Demea.

In fear they ran away to an island but soon came back home when they learned that their parents thought they were dead. But what became of the murderer on the run? Tom Sawyer is a story told in such an engaging manner that you’ll want to read it all in one sitting. The characters are vibrant and alive and the language simple, fun and engaging.
