Logbook Memories is a an aviation podcast where we discuss stories that are torn right from the pages of your pilot logbooks. We’re here to remind each other why we fly (or flew, in some cases), and to encourage others to do the same. Our guests look back in the pages of their logbooks and find a flight that was particularly memorable or meaningful, and share the story of that flight or adventure in their own words.

My name is Nathan Forster, and this is Deeper & Wider- a show where we meet at the crossroads of Christian faith, and all of life- from the small to the big, from mundane to the profound. Where we learn people’s stories & their specialties, have conversations, and offer perspectives- all of which are shaped and animated by Jesus, His way of life, and the Kingdom He came to bring. This show will be a resource for people who- deep in their bones- think that, surely, God’s Kingdom is deeper and wider than the box we have put it in… A kingdom that can permeate all of existence… If we allow it to.
Another sermon from 2019, a week after Resurrection Sunday.

This book features a series of short stories collected by renowned ethnologist Henry R. Schoolcraft. The stories are adapted from old Native American legends with the aim to protect their authenticity from future contamination. Schoolcraft made it his duty to learn the Native American folklore, after living among them in the Great Lakes region and experiencing their culture firsthand. The allegorical collection include tales of adventure, whilst offering exciting explanations for natural phenomena as perceived by members of the tribe and their ancestors, who have passed down the tales from one generation to the next. The collection of stories begins with the introduction of wise and venerable Iagoo, whose respected position and function in the tribe is to preserve their history through the means of storytelling. It is his role as a storyteller to recount tales of the customs and traditions of their people to attentive young listeners. Consequently begin the tales of mythological and fascinating events, which take place in a time when animals could speak and the world was still new. Personification is therefore generously applied and embraced throughout the collection. The stories serve a purpose of endorsing morals, expressing the sweet rewards of good conduct, and ultimately act as cautionary tales to portray the consequences of certain traits. Celebrating interconnectedness between man and nature, the stories support the idea that every course of action has a consequence and that humans are not superior to nature, but equally valuable while sharing responsibility and purpose. What makes the collection so fascinating is the fact that the stories have been passed down throughout generations by oral traditions, therefore signifying their cultural richness and identity. Depicting a close relationship between mankind, spirits, animals, and nature, the stories depict a cultural tradition successfully portrayed in the pages of the anthology. Furthermore the compilation allows readers to observe and learn more about a culture preserved in a most intriguing manner.

A mindfulness podcast designed specifically for the traditionally marginalized. If you can’t see it, you can’t be it. Reframe your mind to realign with your purpose. This meditation focuses on limiting self-beliefs and how they can completely immobilize us if we’re not careful. Whatever your religion or creed, we cannot deny the power of the human mind. It has the power to create bridges or walls for us. It has the ability to make things impossible or effortless. It can make us fearless and unstoppable, or completely immobilized and powerless. It can be as wild and unpredictable as mercury, or as serene and calm as the surface of still water. It is our best friend and most vengeful enemy. And yet we don’t need to fight against it. We only need to acknowledge it, and return over and over again to what we’re trying to focus on and cultivate. You see, the mind can be trained. This is why meditation is called a “practice”. We come back each day to exercise and guide the mind so it can begin working on our behalf. So we’re not constantly at it’s mercy as it relentlessly switches from topic to topic and hones in our doubts, insecurities, and regrets. If we follow our mind as it spirals downwards, we encourage it to continue returning to these self-defeating thoughts. Where the attention goes, energy flows. If you are constantly thinking about how you will never be good enough, honestly, you never will. You’ve already told yourself your truth. Your mind will always stop you from reaching your destiny if you continue to let it believe whatever it wishes. This practice helps us acknowledge the limitations we impose on ourselves and helps us to let them go forever. Releasing the hold these negative beliefs have on us, we begin to build a positive reality of our own design. Till soon, Synesthésie “Whatever we believe about ourselves and our ability comes true for us.” —Susan L. Taylor

Welcome to the Happy or Right Podcast. I, Ian, started this podcast after some very long nights with my wife, Andrea (no, not like that, get your head out of the gutter). We would debate long into the night about all sort of subjects and with a passion/determination that I thought others would like to see/hear. And better yet, after it’s all said and done, there are no lingering resentments (that I am aware of). I figured why not have the debates so that you, the listeners, don’t end up sleeping on couch after a lengthy debate on who controls the remote. Let us hash it out for you! Main topics include everything from the afterlife and work ethic all the way to who controls the remote and doing dishes. Be forewarned, while our episodes will have a main debate, we go on tangents frequently, so you never quite know what you are going to get. We’ll have a main subjects and then reoccurring segments (“Is this racist?”, “Is this sexist?” are common ones.) Please email us with your thoughts and ideas (happyorrightpodcast@gmail.com). If they are good, we’ll add them to our debate list. If they are bad, we’ll make fun of them on the podcast (so really it’s win-win for the listeners).
