    Brain Bios Podcast

    by

    Since Aug 23, 2018 04:23 UTC

When we, Geoff Woodman and Ashleigh Maxcey, were putting the finishing touches on our career advice book, From Start to Finish: A practical guide to becoming a scientist in psychology and neuroscience, we realized that we were not done with the topic for two main reasons. First, at the end of each chapter Ashleigh interviewed a subject matter expert to include additional viewpoints. Conducting the interviews was so illuminating and enjoyable that it became our favorite part of the book. Second, there are many topics we would have loved to discuss but weren’t appropriate for a book format. The Brain Bios Podcast is an opportunity to keep the conversation going, expanding on those points and voices. In these episodes, you will hear the voices of scientists in the fields of psychology and neuroscience. You’ll get to know their origin story and learn about their career. Each interview will include an in-depth discussion of a topic, selected by the speaker, related to a career in science. Our goal is to convey genuine stories from scientists in the field, either advisory, anecdotal, or self-deprecating in nature, to accompany our listeners as they navigate their careers. Since the subject matter changes as a function of the interviewee, the interested audience might change as well. We hope you find something interesting and relevant to you in each epsiode, but if you run into an episode that isn’t your jam because it is not catered to where you are in your career, please pass it along to a more junior trainee or a more senior advisor for who it’s more relevant.

    Glory Days: Dreams & Nightmares

    Since Aug 25, 2021 11:35 UTC

“It’s my honor to present the first College Football Playoff National Championship trophy to coach Urban Meyer and The Ohio State Buckeyes.” Pandemonium! Excitement! The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire! First, let me stop you here. Before the time machine gets fired up, ask yourself a couple of things:

    (1) Have I ever listened to a sequential retelling of College Football’s first climb to playoff supremacy?

    (2) Have I ever wanted to hear a behind-the-scenes take from the players on the endurance it took to overcome a year’s worth of unprecedented circumstances?

    (3) Do I enjoy a mix of light and heavy-hearted storytelling?

If the answer to any one of these is yes, we are certain you will enjoy Captain Evan Spencer’s and Captain Joshua Perry’s recapturing of events. From the loss of two Heisman Trophy candidates to the unfortunate death of a teammate, Chris Caldwell (Co-Host) Evan and Josh expertly weave in and out of conversations yet to be told first-hand.

Stories that trend as light as post-game house parties on up to play-by-play’s similar to what the team was thinking, feeling, doing the championship week their 3rd string quarterback took reigns of the offense.

As mentioned by Head Coach Urban Meyer, “(this is) one of the greatest stories in college football history.” So, why not relive it straight from the source?

    The Choice

    The Choice

    by

    Since Jul 12, 2014 21:34 UTC

We have created The Choice for those who want to connect or reconnect with the Quran in a private and simple manner. Outside influences can sometimes skew our perspective and we believe this is what has happened with the Quran. The Quran should be experienced without prejudice and with an open spirit.

This is the book that brought nations out of darkness, oppressors to their knees and slaves to freedom, it is time for The Quran to receive the honour that it was brought forth with. One that Muslims believe came straight from Allah.

“The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve.” (The Noble Quran 18:29)
