    The Scholar’s Corner

    The Scholar’s Corner

    by

    Since Oct 30, 2009 02:47 UTC

The Scholar’s Corner is a History podcast. The show encompasses people and events that have influenced US History. Andy J Lemon and JK Hooper will use a chronological structure to teach their audience. The authors will animate each show by using their story telling abilities and vibrant personalities to bring historical events alive. Each show will feature famous quotes, art, and historical places.

There are several figures and events that have yet to be covered in a podcast, something that has frustrated the authors. The authors started this podcast after their own frustrated attempts to download audio on US History. Their goal is to bring their audience these historical events through their own exhaustive research.

Andy J. Lemon and J.K. Hooper discuss George Rogers Clark and the War in the West. Inspired by Lowell H. Harrison’s book, the Scholar’s Corner takes an in depth look at the role Clark played during the Revolutionary War. Clark was a skilled military leader and his use of psychological warfare has been studied by many great military leaders and historians. This podcast will cover the founding of Kentucky (as Clark is given credit for), the military campaign in Illinois, the story about the secret agent Francis Vigo, the military campaign at Vincennes Indiana in the dead of winter when the British had quartered their men, and the later years of Clark, where he is credited with founding Louisville, KY, Clarksville, IN, and Clark County Indiana.

The Scholar’s Corner also has their first guest historian for this episode, Pamela Nolan, she is a park ranger at the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park in Vincennes. Join us as a group of historians make history by providing the first ever podcast covering George Rogers Clark and the War in the West.

    The Vanity Project

    The Vanity Project

    by

    Since Nov 30, 2021 15:07 UTC

Welcome to The Vanity Project, hosted by Drag queen Vanity von Glow. This series will showcase engaging discussions between a drag queen and unlikely guests from the worlds of entertainment, media and politics. It will juxtapose the laughs we all know and expect from a drag queen, with more thoughtful, engaging discussions and insight.

A reigning queen of Soho, Vanity is one of the UK’s most recognisable cabaret stars, famed for her lively shows at the piano. Being a creative of the nightlife, Vanity is also an advocate for personal freedom, free speech, and radical tolerance. She has caused a stir with appearances on panel discussions for the BBC, Sky News, Byline TV and more. VVG believes in tackling ideas rather than people, and prides herself on taking time to consider all points of view. Guests at The Vanity Project will be encouraged to relax, be themselves and express their truth.

The Vanity Project began life in front of a live audience in Covent Garden’s glamorous hClub in 2018 featuring guests such as satirist Jonathan Pie, journalist Dan Wooton, and black community activist and performer Sadie Sinner. Now Vanity is exchanging the live audience for the intimacy of a podcast. Performers are known for being talkers, but this queen is also a great listener. In a cultural moment where it feels like everyone is shouting at one another, we offer you a classic innuendo: it is time to go in deeper with Vanity von Glow.

Themes range from wellness/mindfulness, human rights, youth culture, the LGBT+ experience, politics and more, with guests bringing their own themes and experiences to the podcast.

    From Our 20’s

    by

    Since Nov 30, 2020 18:03 UTC

In our early 20’s, after a lot of us get out of college, we seem to be asking a lot of questions and having fewer answers. So how do we navigate and find our way into adulthood? Our goal on this podcast is to share our experiences, as we go through them in real time, and talk about real topics that people our age engage with, while also looking through them with as much of a biblical lens as we can. We are by no means experts on much of anything, we are just simple guys living life just like you! Ask us your questions! Email us at fromour20@gmail.com

Every Wednesday, co-hosts Josh, Brian, and A.J. dissect an artifact of popular culture, breaking down how its narrative choices reflect or subvert the reactionary political project. From video games to movies to theater to an apparently infinite supply of evangelical Christian radio drama, we expose the machinations of the worst of all possible worlds in order to figure out how to build a better one. Matt Marr (@themattmarr) and Jake Anthony (@jakeitorfakeit) are two Southern Queens who adore watching some campy television. They also love any show with real hot guys. We didn’t say this was a deep show, y’all. Join the “Sisters” from different misters, as they recap CW’s RIVERDALE (with HOT ARCHIE), FX’s FUED: BETTE AND JOAN (drag queen acting), and Logo’s award-winning, FINDING PRINCE CHARMING. And by “award” we mean it’s a hot train wreck of a show that attempts to be the Gay Bachelor. Yes, Jake and Mattie mock everything they watch, but at the same time…they can’t stop watching! This show is gayer than Christmas morning in Judy Garland’s living room. www.tvteatime.com And want to see Jake’s face as he judges Mattie?
