Story Jam Theatre – Business Edition

    by

    Since Feb 15, 2015 13:30 UTC

About Story Jam Story Jam Theatre was created by New York transplant Chris Krimitsos after moving to Tampa and missing the creative scene of his beloved NY. On September 23rd, 2014 (Chris’ Birthday), he invited a few friends to share stories that had impacted them…and Story Jam Theatre was born! The stories were so profound, they deeply touched all who were in attendance. Inspired by his wife’s podcast Biz Women Rock, he set out to create this podcast to leverage the medium and bring these stories to the world! Help us grow by sharing these stories with friends and letting us know if you have a story of your own to share! Live Shows We are currently producing the majority of our shows out of Tampa Bay, Florida. We will be expanding to other cities in the Southeast as the Story Jam Theatre community grows. Share a Story! To tell us your story, please fill out the form below. Story Jam’s Main Stage is located in Tampa, FL. We will be expanding to other cities in the Southeast as the community grows. Camp-Fire Girls in the Country or The Secret Aunt Hannah Forgot by FRANCIS, Stella M.

    by

    Since Jan 1, 1970 00:00 UTC

Teen-ager Hazel Edwards and the other twelve members of the Flamingo Camp-Fire Girls experience some real adventure when they are invited to spend part of their summer as guests of Hazel’s elderly aunt on her large country farm. Mrs. Hannah Hutchins is a widow living alone with a few servants and farming assistants in her home in the Midwestern town of Fairberry. The girls set up camp on a section of Aunt Hannah’s farm but, before too long, an incident occurs during the annual Fourth of July celebration in Fairberry. What happens will have far-reaching consequences for Hazel’s Aunt Hannah and the girls of Flamingo Camp Fire as they must use the skills they’ve gained to fend off desperate characters and help Aunt Hannah to ‘remember’ what she forgot. This book, Camp-Fire Girls in the Country or The Secret Aunt Hannah Forgot, is one of numerous books written about the Camp-Fire Girls and their experiences. (Summary by Lee Ann Howlett.)

“Coleshanger people are pretty bad,” said Uncle Edward. “They won’t cross water after sunset. And they have to be in bed by midnight, otherwise they think that they’ll be turned into baboons and apes. They also worship the flea.” Written in 1952, Coleshanger is a humorous, whimsical and charming recount of English village life in the early part of the last century, a tale waiting seventy years to be heard, but still very much the story of us today.

Our Mutual Friend, Version 2 by DICKENS, Charles

Our Mutual Friend, Version 2 by DICKENS, Charles

    by

    Since Jan 1, 1970 00:00 UTC

Our Mutual Friend (written in the years 1864–65) is the last novel completed by Charles Dickens and is one of his most sophisticated works, combining psychological insight with social analysis. It centres on, in the words of critic J. Hillis Miller, “money, money, money, and what money can make of life” but is also about human values. In the opening chapters a body is found in the Thames and identified as John Harmon, a young man recently returned to London to receive his inheritance. Were he alive, his father’s will would require him to marry Bella Wilfer, a beautiful, mercenary girl whom he had never met. Instead, the money passes to the working-class Boffins, and the effects spread into various corners of London society. (Wikipedia)

Good Morning, Boys and Girls! by HOSTY, Rev. Thomas J.

    by

    Since Jan 1, 1970 00:00 UTC

Forty simple, delightful sermons for children. The stories cover a full school year, all Sundays and a few holydays in between. Under such engaging chapter titles, as Chasing Rainbows, Caterpillars, The Best Christmas Gift, and Breakfast of Champions, the book entertains while it instructs. Here Heaven takes on a new closeness as “God’s Home”; the Bible is a collection of “Letters from God”; while the devil is called “a Real Bogeyman.” Such important subjects as beauty of soul, gratitude, Sunday Mass, the foolishness of sin, the Rosary, and temptation are dealt with in a refreshing manner guaranteed to capture the interest of every child. (Summary from the original dust jacket.)
