Take Creative Measures Podcast
+ Read moreYou got a degree in music. Now what? Most performers are released into the world with the idea that the only thing they are qualified to do is perform on their instrument. But what if something happens that doesn’t allow you to perform? What if you get injured? Or, what if, after putting in all of that time and effort you just realize that this isn’t what you want to do with your life? Never fear, you aren’t alone. You have options! Remember, being creative is supposed to help you think outside of the box, not trap you inside one. On the Take Creative Measures Podcast I will be interviewing musicians who have, for whatever reason, made changes to the way they perform and teach. Some of them have found a way to augment their performing careers, others have made small changes in order to make their careers more lucrative and fulfilling, while others have changed careers entirely. There are options out there for you. You just need to take Creative Measures.

The Vocal Lab
+ Read moreThis show aims to pull back the curtain on the music industry, and give up-and-coming artists some of the knowledge that veterans wish they’d had when they were just starting out. Our format on The Vocal Lab incorporates some solo episodes where it’s just Sara, talking about voice care and singing and performance coaching, the realities of life on the road, and how to prep for the studio – basically answering questions you may or may not even know to ask!We will also have TONS of guest interview episodes, where veterans can draw on their experience to lay out the yellow brick road for the next generation of artists. You’ll get to hear their perspective through the lens of “what I know now that I wish I’d known then.”
If you’re an emerging artist, this is your music industry primer.

No Thoroughfare by Charles Dickens
+ Read moreTwo boys from the Foundling Hospital are given the same name, with disastrous consequences in adulthood. Two associates, wishing to right the wrong, are commissioned to find a missing heir. Their quest takes them from fungous wine cellars in the City of London to the sunshine of the Mediterranean — across the Alps in winter. Danger and treachery would prevail were it not for the courage of the heroine and the faithful company servant. The story contains crafted descriptions, well-drawn and diverse characters, eerie and exotic backgrounds, mystery, semi-concealed identities, brinkmanship with death, romance, the eventual triumph of Good over Evil, and many other elements expected in classic Dickens. First published in 1867 there are thematic parallels with other books from Dickens’ mature writings, including Little Dorrit (1857) and especially Our Mutual Friend (1865). The Listener will decide if this story yields insights into The Mystery of Edwin Drood (unfinished 1870). Wilkie Collings collaborated with Charles Dickens to produce this ‘Christmas’ book and the stage play of the same name. In the book Collins assisted in Act 1 and Act 4; Collins scripted most of the stage play with Dickens’ assistance. If this book were released today it would be splashed “THE BOOK OF THE FILM”. Summary by Alan Chant.

The Uncurated Life Podcast
+ Read moreHave you ever been cruising Instagram or Pinterest and found yourself comparing your life to the beautiful people online? Don’t lie, you know you do this. It is really easy to forget that what we see online is only part of someone’s story, and a real, complicated person exists behind the camera. I’m interested in exploring the reality of life outside of the algorithm, both to remind us that everyone out there is human, but also, to remind us that we aren’t alone.

Arts podcasts include all types of creative and performing arts. Most notably, Arts is the main category where visual arts podcasts and literature podcasts can be found. It also has some overlap with music and film podcasts, which each have separate categories of their own.
