    Nourishing the Mother

    Nourishing the Mother

    by

    Since Jun 28, 2015 14:00 UTC

Mothering can be an inspired journey to our most glittering, authentic, passionate, creative and connected selves. Through the mirror offered to us by our children, we are taken to every hurt, unmet need, and also every joy and excitement we’ve ever experienced. We want every woman and mother to give themselves and those around them the compassion, love and healing they so readily offer their children, but rarely allow themselves. Journey with us as we discuss the many layers of being a mother today, where we have come from and where we want to go. Learn tools to connect with yourself, offer compassion to those parts we’d rather deny and get back in love with yourself, motherhood and who you are as a feminine woman.

Expectation is possibly the most corrosive pattern of mothers in motherhood. We crave to live a full and vibrant life and ask for more, but we want to make sure we’re doing this from a place that is sustainable and life giving, not wrapped in conditions. In this episode we give you a 3-step process to bust the crushing addictions to expectations.

    In this episode we discuss:

    – How the weight of expectations, causes our suffering
    – How to spot an expectation spiral
    – How to map somatically that expectation spiral in your body
    – How to menatally bbalance your perceptions that are causing your suffering
    – How our expectataions are so often shaped by impossible comparisons
    – Breaking down the comparisons
    – Redefining polarising thinking on what is right or wrong
    – Removing our attachments to one-sided thinking
    – How we can even make the joyful unsafe, and repatterning that within
    – Self-celebration
    – Self-appreciation
    – Making celebration safe for you
    – Honouring everythign you’ve already done
    – Celebration as the foundation of law of attraction and how to work with it

Sam Malone Show Marriage Talk with Sam Malone and Honor The Vow’s Robert Cossick

    by

    Since Apr 25, 2014 14:30 UTC

Every Friday Sam Malone takes a break from his show’s political focus to discuss with Robert Cossick the sanctity and beauty of marriage. The discussions are lighthearted and the advice is practical and encouraging. Listen to past discussions here, then join us each Friday at 8:35 CST for another great discussion. #321: Water Balloon fights are a staple activity in just about every kid’s life. Inevitably, there would be at least one balloon with a tiny leak. If you tried to throw that balloon the leak would tear open and the water would gush out and soak you. Sometimes conversations with your wife is a lot like a leaking water balloon. She leaks out a little information and you passively listen. But then it happens, you choose to actively participate by asking a question and it’s as if you touched the leak. The slow stream bursts open and a deluge of information hits you like you’re standing in front of a fire hose.

    The Kate and Colby Show

    The Kate and Colby Show

    by

    Since Sep 12, 2017 23:44 UTC

The Kate and Colby Show is about Holistic Care for the Soul. We explore all the things (marriage, parenting, church, religion, faith, and more) through a Progressive Christian lens, empowering YOU to truly thrive.

We have moralized the experiences of feeling either UP (it’s good!) or DOWN (that’s bad). It’s seen as better to be happy, peppy, and positive; whereas if you’re feeling blue or sad or angry, we’ve turned that in to a negative. Part of what still needs deconstructing for many of us is this moralization of our emotional world. Rather than bottling or repressing our “down” feelings, may we learn to name, accept, and release them. ——— Past Episodes in this Series: Part 1: When Evangelical Leaders Tell You YOUR “Why” Part 2: Investigating Our Savior Complexes Part 3: Why We Don’t Entirely Identify with the #Deconstruction Movement Part 4: Deconstructing While Still Going to Church ——— ABOUT THE KATE & COLBY SHOW Our mission is Holistic Care for the Soul. As post-Evangelicals, and self-identifying Progressive Christians (or at least, most days), we offer unique insights into the world of relationships, spiritual practices, parenting, and more. We met in Junior High, got married in 2003, and soon grew our family to four kids. Living in San Diego, we also co-Pastor the church we started in 2014, Sojourn Grace Collective: https://www.sojourngrace.com Don’t forget to check out The Kate & Colby Show on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPECswRcM6SUr-bwUNwuX_A) where you can see past episodes of our LIVE Show. ——— THREE WAYS TO SUPPORT THE SHOW 1) Financially Express your gratitude and help with the costs of producing and growing the Show with one-time gifts or monthly backing: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/kateandcolby 2) Socially Subscribe to our channel on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPECswRcM6SUr-bwUNwuX_A Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kateandcolby Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kateandcolby Get our Newsletter: https://www.thekateandcolbyshow.com 3) Reviewingly Listen, Rate and Review our Podcast. – iTunes: https://apple.co/2VfFgb3 – Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2Vh4jdH – Stitcher: https://bit.ly/2VeotoT – Podbean: https://bit.ly/3fZ4yCj ——— SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR MONTHLY BARISTAS (aka, our Supporters on Buy Me A Coffee) Anna, Melanie, Bill, Patty, Amanda, Lisa, Erin, and Jason!

    How’s School?

    by

    Since Jun 30, 2022 22:21 UTC

“How’s School?” The question adults reflexively ask, and kids hate to answer. The truth is, we care about our young people, dare we say, even worry about them. But staying connected to their world and all the complexity they navigate can be a real challenge. The scope of issues we look at includes education, health, and psychology, but at the core is their well-being. And our ability to face things that impact them without losing heart.

That imperfect species that hopes his kids turn out better than him at everything. He’s the dad who dreams of his kids throwing perfect spirals, curing cancer, and pronouncing landmark Supreme Court decisions. And sometimes, Dad nails it. Other times, his kid strikes out looking, loses a finger in wood shop, and barfs in the back of your neighbor’s minivan…because a whole bag of licorice and a quart of chocolate milk seemed like a good lunch before soccer practice.
