Faith Over Fear: The Christian Pregnancy & Birth Podcast

Faith Over Fear: The Christian Pregnancy & Birth Podcast

    by

    Since Apr 12, 2025 17:58 UTC

Hi there, I’m Natalie Portman! I’m a Christian birth doula, virtual birth coach, childbirth educator, wife, and mama—and I created this podcast just for you.

If you’re preparing for birth, navigating pregnancy, or adjusting to those early days of motherhood, you’re in the right place. On the podcast I share a mix of powerful Christian birth stories, Scripture-based encouragement, and practical tips to help you walk through this season with peace and purpose.

Around here, I do things a little differently. While the world encourages you to control every detail and rely on your own strength, I’ll gently point you back to the freedom of surrender and the beauty of God’s design for birth. Because I believe birth isn’t about showcasing your strength—it’s about revealing the Lord’s. And when we fix our eyes on Jesus, we can choose faith over fear.

I’d love for you to subscribe so you never miss an episode. And if you’re looking for more support, grab my free Christian Mama Birth Prep Library at faithoverfearbirth.com. It’s packed with birth prep guides, faith-filled tools, and other resources to help you invite God into your birth space.

You don’t have to walk this path alone. Let’s journey together—with faith, not fear.

The Epic Order of the Seven – The Podcast

The Epic Order of the Seven – The Podcast

    by

    Since Mar 24, 2020 23:10 UTC

Before Patrick Henry became the “Voice of the Revolution” with his seven famous words, “Give me liberty or give me death,” he was much like any other boy growing up in colonial Virginia. But by God’s providence, (and help from the special animals of the Epic Order!) Patrick Henry, George Washington, Ben Franklin, and their unique generation grew to be America’s Founding Fathers, laying the groundwork for America’s Independence. The fight for liberty would be costly, with an Enemy determined to give the patriots the other outcome – death. Each episode brings a portion of this incredible story, as told in the audio book, “The Voice, the Revolution, & the Key” written by Jenny L. Cote and read by Denny Brownlee. Plus, “commentary” from your hosts Max and Liz. And this season, Nigel the mouse joins them! With joyful insights from author Jenny L. Cote, special guests, and feedback on your letters, this weekly adventure continues to delight your entire family!

The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

    by

    Since Sep 27, 2020 00:00 UTC

A beautiful woman who is punished for the mortal sin of loving a man other than her husband, a cowardly lover, a vengeful husband, a rebellious illegitimate child and the oppressive and patriarchal morality of 17th century Puritanism in Boston. Together these form an unforgettable and thought-provoking glimpse of how much social attitudes have changed over the centuries. Nathaniel Hawthorne was the creator of such beloved works as Twice-Told Tales, A Wonder Book for Boys and Girls, The House of the Seven Gables and spine-chilling tales like Roger Malvin’s Burial. Scion of an old Puritan family from Salem, Massachusetts, Hawthorne was familiar with the old traditions of the area. He began writing in college and worked as a customs surveyor to earn his livelihood while pursuing his passion for creative writing. His friendship with Ralph Waldo Emerson broadened his horizons considerably and he experimented with movements like Transcendentalism. The Scarlet Letter is a deeply disturbing novel about gender discrimination, women’s oppression, male dominated society and authoritarian religions. Set in 17th century Boston, its lovely heroine Hester Prynne, is accused of adultery and giving birth to an illegitimate child in the absence of her husband. The punishment mandated for this crime is to be paraded and vilified in public with a scarlet letter A affixed to her chest, signifying “adulteress.” She refuses to name her partner in crime. The missing husband arrives fortuitously at that very moment, but does not reveal himself to Hester or the public. Intent on revenge, he devises an elaborate plot to destroy his wife and her nameless lover. The book was an instantaneous hit when it was first published and touched a chord with readers all over the world, both men and women. It was the first book to be published on a mass scale in the United States. However, religious establishments were critical of the book’s attempt to countermand the rules of the Church and promote immorality. Generations of readers have been struck by its compassion, depth and deep human concern. The strong plot and memorable characters have rendered it uniquely suited to adaptations for stage, film, television and radio. The Scarlet Letter remains a masterpiece of wonderful story-telling, full of dramatic moments, secrets and mysteries and above all, for the modern reader, it’s an excellent read! Meant To Be Mama

    by

    Since Dec 14, 2022 09:00 UTC

We are your hosts, Meg & Sara. Two relatable women on a mission to unpack the real and raw truths of infertility, pregnancy after loss, motherhood & everything in between. We’ve both experienced our own losses on our journeys to motherhood, and will be sharing our own struggles and truths in an effort to help women feel less alone. We both felt isolated and unsupported and craved a space where we felt understood, so our goal is to create that space. We promise not to throw silver linings at you or wrap anything up in a pretty bow, while also realizing the importance of hope and faith and aim to create balance between the two. Our purpose is to create a safe haven for women who have experienced infertility, pregnancy and/or infant loss. As mentioned, we’ll be discussing our own stories as well as welcoming other women to share theirs and all the different journeys taken to “becoming mama”. We will unpack how to navigate life after loss including topics such as; ways to heal, trying to conceive again, relationships with significant others, friends and family and so much more. If you’ve experienced infertility and/or loss, this podcast is for you. If you’re a friend or family member of someone going through this process and looking for ways to offer comfort or support them on their journey, this podcast is for you too. New episodes release every Monday. Please rate, review & subscribe to stay updated.
