The hosts, Kelli King-Jackson, ACC and Kendra Ross, PhD, invite you into their group chat as they talk about faith, f(r)amily, community, politics, and pop culture. They don’t believe in leaving any Black woman behind so all are invited into the conversation!

Prison Prophets provides a powerful connection to incarcerated artists via interviews and original music. We take the listener inside the prison, where we hear the stories of 25 incarcerated men, many in their 50s and 60s. These voices have never been heard by the public, nor has the music, which was created for an album addressing mass incarceration. We hear each man talk about his first memory of music, and speak or sing lyrics that are lifelines keeping spirits alive even when many have no hope of parole. These interviews and songs testify to the healing power of music, dismantle prejudices many may hold about those who are locked up, and foster awareness of our common humanity.

Big Facts, No Cap is an iPod broadcast in which two normal dudes with highly overlapping worldviews give advice to online strangers who will probably never hear it. Using questions from advice columns ranging in scope from dating to pet care to religion and everything in between, Paul and Adrian deliver the best suggestions they can muster off the top of their lovely yet largely vacant heads. The duo’s tough love and hot takes also extend to the advice giver as they critique the published response to each query from the column’s resident expert. Truly a show that no one asked for, Big Facts No Cap is an unapologetic vanity project from two (basically) adult men whose time would probably be better spent fixing their own problems. But hey, that sounds way less fun to listen to, doesn’t it?

The 2003 recall of California’s governor, and his replacement with Arnold Schwarzenegger, was more than just history. For Americans, the recall previewed how our politics would grow louder, more populist, more direct. For Californians, Schwarzenegger’s election started a new wave of action-oriented, people-driven governance, with major advances for children, environmental protection, and democratic reform. The California Recall: Its First 20 Years shows that while the recall may be two decades old, it still isn’t over. Written by Joe Mathews Read by Edoardo Ballerini
