Five years ago when Lindsay Paulson, a naive college student and talented distance runner, was 18, she was convicted of drug smuggling. Now, halfway through a 10-year prison sentence, she begins having what seem to be dreams, in which she leaves her cell in the night and visits another reality called Trae. Dreaming of Deliverance tells of Lindsay’s experiences both in Trae, where she finds herself among people enslaved by terrifying creatures, and in prison where she tries to make sense of what’s happening in her sleep: Is she actually escaping from prison somehow or is she losing her mind?

Believe it or not, an AM radio station in Northfield was foolish enough to give members of the Northfield Union of Youth (also known as The Key) a radio show every Saturday. Originally broadcasting at the god-awful time of 9:00 a.m, they have since been on at the slightly more manageable time of 11:00 a.m. The show, broadcasting live every Saturday on 1080 AM KYMN Radio in Northfield, is NOW MOVING to the station’s very own podcasting site. So please make sure you look for the most recent shows here: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=317913830 [itunes pic]
First and foremost, let us apologize for the lack of episodes through August. On the 8th, there was a problem recording the show, on the 15th, only Kev-E-Fly showed up and he only did half of a show (long story), the whole cast took the 22nd off, and now finally that brings us to the 29th of August. Secondly, we are moving to a new podcasting site very soon. 1080AM KYMN Radio (the station we broadcast on) has very graciously offered to have our show on their station’s podcast, rather than what we have been doing– podcasting off of a different service. This will more than likely start with the episode on September 5th, and you can find the station’s podcast here: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=317913830 Thirdly, here’s what happened “in this episode” of the show: Dan The Man, Kev-E-Fly and Antsy Adams talk about Bob Dylan lurking in front of homes in New Jersey, getting a free scorpion with your meal at McDonald’s, iPhones exploding in France, and Adam and Dan learn to drop their vowels when speaking. We also play brand new music from The Twilight Sad and Volcano Choir, as well as tunes from the Smashing Pumpkins, Bat For Lashes and Friendly Fires.

The second volume contains an enlightening critique of Ricardian economics, showing the constraints on theory entailed by Ricardo’s static and pseudo-mathematical method. Ricardo’s successor John Stuart Mill is the object of a devastating intellectual portrait. Marxism is subjected to a merciless demolition, and Rothbard shows the roots of this system in metaphysical speculation. The French classical liberals such as Bastiat, on the other hand, contributed to the subjectivist school. A further highlight of this volume is a discussion of the bullionist controversy: the views of the Banking and Currency Schools receive extensive analysis.
