Finally, Jeff reviews Don’t Breathe 2, Neill Blomkamp’s Demonic, Riz Ahmed’s Mogul Mowgli, and John David Washington’s new Netflix movie Beckett as well as the trailers for Small Engine Repair, Marvel’s Eternals, and the AMC series 61st Street before taking a handful of mailbag questions, including one about Dwayne Johnson’s compensation package for Jungle Cruise and another about the very different box office coverage granted to The Suicide Squad and Free Guy.

Well, it’s time for me to post another new mix. Again, this was also done as a demo for a club, this time in Melbourne.

I apologise to all you in the UK cos the vibe of the mix really reflects the weather out here, nice and summery! Lets hope it at least makes you feel a little less cold than you probably are.

I guess this is a little more cheesy than what a lot of you would expect from me but as I always say, its all about “just good music!”. Lots of vocals, oodles of funk and made for the dancefloor. I hope you enjoy it as much as the Aussies have when I’ve played it to them!

In the Appalachia region of the U.S., a region once dominated by the coal industry, mines have continued to close one after another. In answer, two tech consultants have established a free coding bootcamp called Mined Minds to retrain out of work coal miners and others for work in tech. What they promise seems like it could improve the socioeconomic status of communities around the world. But some believe they aren’t as beneficial as they come off. Several ex-learners have criticized the bootcamp, saying they were promised employment upon completion of the program and were fired days later. Others have filed a class action lawsuit against them on charges of fraud. Code Burst investigates Mined Minds, their efficacy, and whether their model can work for others. Code Burst is produced as a collaboration between CKUT 90.3 FM and eLearning Inside News.
