Little Bird Told Me: A Mystic Podcast Novel and Audio Book

Little Bird Told Me: A Mystic Podcast Novel and Audio Book

    by

    Since Jul 10, 2007 21:57 UTC

Hello. This is John Rhodes. I’ve decided to attempt to make this a free podcast novel again with the free podomatic hosting although it will be sort of telephone quality sound. I will test it and maybe boost the quality. For full quality sound go to: http://littlebirdtoldme.blip.tv. That site will eventually have all my 23 chapters posted there for free. Please consider buying my book though as a donation to the author. This is a far-out hip, San Francisco audio book and podcast novel by John Rhodes that takes place in San Francisco, in the Haight called, “Little Bird Told Me”. It is an Avant Garde story told in the 90’s. Peace and love are main topics in the book just like with the hippies. I also live in the Haight and have an audio/video Haight Street open mike poetry podcast called: Mystic Babylon at http://mysticbabylon.podomatic.com , which is also run as a free local TV show on the cable access Comcast channels. Please listen in, but just as people support Public Broadcasting, You can buy my 3 books in text from www.authorhouse.com and one book from audible.com .Please tell a friend! Note: also visit: http://www.rhodespoetry.com . Note: There was some glitches the 29th of April or so because I was hasty and was redirecting you in audio to my poetry site instead of my podcast novel site. I have since corrected this error. [itunes pic]
This is the first chapter of the Audiobook and Podcast Novel, Little Bird Told Me. I, John Rhodes, started producing this podcast almost back to when the first podcast novel came out produced by Scott Sigler. We would go to the same Podcast Meetup. This first chapter is entitled, Leaving Home. It deals with parental control much like it is portrayed in its watered down version in the characters of Edith and Archie Bunker. I make you ask the question…if a parent isn’t a mentor or a guide, are they actually holding their child hostage to an unfriendly world, almost as if kidnapped? You be the judge. I hope you enjoy this first chapter. Please visit my poetry podcast/tv show too, at http://mysticbabylon.podomatic.com . It is beginning to run nationally on Public access channels all over the U.S. Enjoy.

    Mind Gap

    by

    Since Aug 21, 2015 00:20 UTC

For years Doug Cochrane and Justin Strandlund have been good friends and frequent improv partners. They share a love of debating any topic, although their discussions usually come back around to two things: movies and space. Their most infamous debate involved a 2 hour discussion (while at work) about the actual possibility of time travel and it’s potential ramifications on mankind; this included a full diagram drawn on a wall-sized whiteboard. Time well spent. MindGap is what happens when they sit together in front of a microphone and press record.

Are you ready to sing a deeper song? Cara Lumen, spiritual philosopher, metaphysical educator, seeker and guide, helps agents of change harvest their gifts and get them to their chosen community so that they more deeply impact those they serve. She helps you become aligned with a purpose and place of service that touches lives and also deepens your personal sense of accomplishment and relevance.

REFLECTIONS OF A DEEPER SONGAn Inner World Exploration

J-1 – Foundation For The Journey Within –
    Create Your Sacred GArden

Within the inner world of your invisible self is a personal place of power and healing. It is a sanctuary for guidance, introspection, and spiritual deepening. It is available to everyone.

Your Sacred Garden in your personal sanctuary. It is a place of self-healing. It is the starting place for meditation, for shamanic journeys.

It this episode, Cara Lumen, spiritual explorer and founder of the Deeper Song Community, leads you on a guided meditation to create this inner sanctuary for your own spiritual practice.

Using the ancient introspective method of shamanic mediations called journeying , Cara guides you to the inner realms where you create your personal place of refuge. Everything you find in your Sacred Garden is an aspect of you, a symbolic, metaphoric message from your inner self.

Whether you want to mediate for self-healing, a deeper understanding of your soul purpose, the well-being of our world, or insights and wisdom for your daily life, you begin your meditative journey in the sanctuary of your Sacred Garden.

In this episode. Cara will guide you in building a transpersonal bridge between the inner and outer world and help you uncover the treasures of your inner self.

    https://passionatelyonpurpose.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/j-1SacredGarden11-31-18.mp3

    In this episode:

    1. Discover the purpose of Your Sacred Garden. What is it, why you want to use it, how to create it.

2, Journey to your invisible worlds to create this sacred inner retreat.

    3. Learn how to immediately add the Sacred Garden to your own spiritual practice.

    Resources:

Drumming Recording: For your personal practice, this drumming tape by Shamanist Sandra Ingerman will help you move gently into a receptive state for your journey. Your journey can be as long or as short as it turns out to be.

In this episode Cara use a Tibetan Hand Bell / Meditation & Prayer Bells / Dorje / Vajra – Medium. There is a variety of these available.

Further Study: If you want to learn more about shamanism I suggest you begin with the book Awakening to the SpiritWorld, the Shamanic Path of Direct Revelation by Sandra Ingerman and Hank Wesselman, both of whom I have studied with.

You can also take courses from both Sandy and Hank at The Shift Network.

    The Tension

    The Tension

    by

    Since Aug 20, 2022 17:13 UTC

The Tension is a podcast centered around the examination and exploration of two theological topics and putting them in right relationship with one another. We find the truth inside of tension. We work through our presuppositions and have a conversation so we can grow, not only in faith, but also in wisdom. The podcast is about reaching the lost, equipping the saints, and challenging you to think deeper into the things of God for the glory of God. We wrestle with subjects like original covenant and new covenant, salvation and discipleship, complexity and simplicity, and much more. We also aim to have conversations about subjects that your church may be avoiding or is unwilling to discuss altogether. There is no way that we can be totally right or totally wrong about our faith. It is our hope to encourage you that you are not alone and there is a community of believers who are seeking the truth of God’s story to His creation. With the podcast we hope that we will build a community for people all over the world- to encourage and challenge each other in our walks of faith. Come join us for a theological deep dive into the story of God.
