First performed in 1977 at the Royal Festival Hall, Tom Stoppard and André Previn’s Every Good Boy Deserves Favour is a play for six actors and an orchestra. It focuses on Alexander Ivanov, a dissident falsely imprisoned in a Soviet mental hospital, and his roomate there, a schizophrenic convinced he has command of a symphony orchestra. The National Theatre revived the production in 2009 with the Southbank Sinfonia, directed by Felix Barrett (Punchdrunk) and Tom Morris.

In each episode of “Drawn To The Mic,” I have the pleasure of sitting down with diverse and talented artists from various creative fields. From painters to musicians, sculptors to writers, each guest brings a unique perspective and story to the table. Through candid and insightful conversations, we delve into their creative process, inspirations, challenges, and triumphs, offering listeners an intimate glimpse into the world of artistry. With every episode, we aim to celebrate the richness and diversity of the artistic community while providing a platform for artists to share their passion and vision with the world. Goal for Interviews: My goal in conducting these interviews is twofold. Firstly, I aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the creative process by exploring the motivations, techniques, and inspirations behind each artist’s work. By sharing these insights, I hope to inspire aspiring creators and enthusiasts to pursue their artistic endeavors with passion and purpose. Secondly, I strive to amplify the voices of talented artists, providing them with a platform to showcase their work and connect with a broader audience. Through these interviews, I aim to contribute to the recognition and support of artists, fostering a vibrant and thriving creative community.

I have climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, trekked to the Dead Sea and played a 90-minute soccer game at both altitudes. People see the highlight reel: I’m a 3x World Record holder, former professional soccer player, author and mother. But I want to pull back the curtain and talk about what the journey is really like in hopes that you can be encouraged and empowered to make it through your own. I’m going to talk about the tough issues, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, and get messy. I want to be in the trenches with you, in your darkest moments. Because when all hope seems lost, she can and she will. She will rise!
