    My Two Pennies

    by

    Since Jul 23, 2020 14:15 UTC

In each “My Two Pennies” podcast, I will offer my viewpoint on events that have been in the news, striving to remain unbiased and equally presenting both sides of the argument. My intent is not to offer an opinion that will validate your position on the subject. Although some see presenting an argument with which they disagree as an attack on their person, I will try my very best not to antagonize you with needless biased comments or personal attacks. I want you to step outside of your closed-minded way of thinking & try to look at the issue from the other person’s point of view.

    Beyond Finances

    Beyond Finances

    by

    Since Jan 4, 2019 03:09 UTC

Beyond Finances provides motivated professionals with young families with new ideas and perspectives on how to use money and strategic financial planning to get more of what you want from life. Each episode features real, direct, and nuanced conversations about the challenge of planning for the long-term – while we live in the here and now. The podcast seeks to go beyond basic financial advice, rules of thumb, and spreadsheet math to help listeners think more deeply and clearly about how to optimize personal finances while also fully experiencing what matters most along the way. Hosted by Eric Roberge, CFP, a fee-only financial advisor who helps his clients take advantage of opportunities while minimizing risk, Beyond Finances aims to translate the theory of advice into the actual practice of using money as a tool to build wealth while enjoying life now. Eric founded Beyond Your Hammock, a wealth management firm based in Boston MA but serving clients virtually with the goal of giving motivated professionals a strategic approach to building wealth that considers all aspects of life, not just finances – one that allows clients to live well today while still planning responsibly for the future. The show is co-hosted by Kali Roberge, who runs operations and marketing for Beyond Your Hammock – and is also Eric’s business partner and spouse. Their open, authentic, and vulnerable conversations help listeners see both what’s possible when you know how to leverage your resources of time, energy, and money to build wealth – but also what tough decisions, tradeoffs, and challenges working couples with young families might face along the way. There are a lot of options for growing and securing wealth – but the only possibility that matters is the one that actually works for you. If you’re tired of black and white advice, join us for conversations about financial planning and wealth building that actually dig into the nuance of creating your own unique path to financial success. Ready to go beyond the podcast? You can reach out to Beyond Your Hammock at team@beyondyourhammock.com or go to BeyondYourHammock.com/Schedule to request a complimentary consultation complete with personalized one-page financial plan.

A New Spin on Autism: Answers! – Lynette Louise

A New Spin on Autism: Answers! – Lynette Louise

    by

    Since Jun 5, 2011 05:01 UTC

Global autism expert Lynette Louise aka The Brain Broad raised eight children. Six of her children were adopted and four of those were on the autism spectrum. Lynette prioritized raising her children into functional adults and succeeded despite her five broken marriages. According to Lynette “I would get married in the hopes that someone would save me. That doesn’t work by the way. In the end I focused on saving my kids and saved myself in the process.” Lynette was able to guide all but one off the spectrum and into lives of independence.

When asked about her secret Lynette says, “Well, I laugh a lot. I see autism as adorable and quirky and since laughter is just joy percolating it heals. After all when you percolate joy you can’t help but save a few lives. Isn’t the very definition of saving a life taking it from misery to joyfulness?”

Lynette travels internationally performing and speaking on the subject of autism and the efficacy of neurofeedback (biofeedback for the brain) administered with joyfulness. Offering a playful therapy of fun, family dynamics counseling and neurofeedback– she effectively helps parents become confident experts in their family’s healing. She is the author of three books, all inspiring and refreshingly honest, some at times hilarious. The WingMaker, MIRACLES ARE MADE: A Real Life Guide to Autism and JEFF: A sexually realized spiritual odyssey of stepping into love.

Presently Lynette is host of our popular podcast: A New Spin On Autism: ANSWERS! and the web series FIX IT IN FIVE with The Brain Broad on The Autism Channel! She is also is working on her PhD in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Psychophysiology at Saybrook University. Lynette holds a computer degree and is doubly board certified in Neurofeedback.

    Ambleside Schools International’s Flourish Podcast

We humans are destined to live in troubled times. As novelist and screenwriter William Goldman puts it in The Princess Bride, “Life is pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.”

Goldman echoes the words of Jesus, who made this clear to His followers, “In this world, you will have tribulation.” Trouble is the norm, not the exception, and troubled hearts always tend toward paralysis and polarization.

In troubled states, one wants desperately either to despair and quit, or to do something. But what?

    Election R&D – 2020 and Beyond

    by

    Since Dec 9, 2019 23:28 UTC

At the USC Dornsife Center for the Political Future, we bring together top Republicans and Democrats to transcend partisan divisions and explore solutions to our most pressing national and global challenges. Join veteran strategists Bob Shrum and Mike Murphy along with other Center staff and major voices in the Bully Pulpit for fun conversations that advance civil dialogue and practical politics. When President Theodore Roosevelt coined the phrase bully pulpit, bully meant “wonderful”; and Roosevelt, according to the Oxford Dictionary, was envisioning “an outstanding opportunity to speak out on any issue.” Hear from famous people who’ve known success and setbacks, whether they worked for Donald Trump or Barack Obama, G.W. Bush or Bill Clinton, the Republican Party or the Democratic Party. The conversations go behind the curtain with elected officials, campaign staff, journalists, academics, pundits, and political operatives. Every exchange is guided by standards central to the Center’s mission: Respect each other and respect the truth. Opponents are adversaries, not enemies. And if you lose, don’t burn down the stadium. The Bully Pulpit was formerly called Election R&D. All our podcast episodes are available at https://electionrd.libsyn.com/website. The Bully Pulpit is a member of the Democracy Group network of top political podcasts about democracy, civic engagement, and civil discourse. https://www.democracygroup.org/
