Welcome to the Go-to Podcast for Christian Midlife Women Solopreneurs who are ready to go from BUSYNESS to FRUITFULNESS. Here you’ll find Time Management Tips using Time Blocking and Productivity Planning to create success in your business along with work-life balance so you can be more present in this season… and in light of eternity! You’re juggling A LOT as an Over 40 Woman in Midlife- from supporting launching kids to aging parents to everything in between like… * Growing your Faith-walk * Nurturing your Marriage * Building your Friendships * Serving in your Business * Stewarding your Resources * Maintaining your Wellness * Developing your Passions * Keeping your Home… Ever feel like there’s never enough TIME (or of YOU) to fit it all in? Do you wish you could stop… > Wasting precious time on less important things that take you away from your priorities? > Questioning what matters most and wavering in indecision or worry beyond the present? > Saying YES to demands or requests on your time when you’re already filled to capacity? > Being half-present with the people around you while thinking about all you should do? Good…cuz that’s NOT the Life + Business He intends for you. There’s a way to simplify and balance midlife + business so you can serve the Lord, nurture your family, make a difference…AND take care of yourself too! Hey, I’m Lissa, Christian Time Management Coach, Priorities Protector and Recovering Should-Do Girl. I’ve been teaching, leading and coaching Christian women for over 25 years. Once upon a time, my life was too busy– I was showing up on the outside, but not fully present inside. And I was building a business, but it was taking me away from who + what mattered. I was BUSY, but I wasn’t FRUITFUL. Something had to change. I asked the Lord where He wanted me to focus… and He led me to manage my time with FAITH at the center. Wanna learn how I make time for…spending quiet time with God, enjoying date night with my hubby, pouring into friendships, serving through my business, stewarding my resources, organizing my home, pursuing my passions– and actually fit in SELF-CARE? Wanna see the exact systems I use to create my WITH-God Business Vision and set intentional goals with the right kind of accountability to actually follow through on? On this podcast I’ll teach you how to be confident, consistent and fully connected in the 8 key areas of your life + business by: > Redefining your God-given life + business plan to guide where you focus your time & attention. > Implementing a simple time management system to create regular rhythms and routines. > Overcoming the distractions that keep you from being effective and intentional. I can’t wait to help you go from BUSYNESS to FRUITFULNESS and discover you really do have all the time you need for what you’re called to. Grab something to sip, open up your heart & calendar…I’m about to show you how to make the best use of your time… with God at the center of it all. Let’s get started. L.Y.L.A.S. The Maharal on Chumash

    The Maharal on Chumash

    by

    Since Oct 11, 2012 03:24 UTC

Pillar of Greatness: The Maharal of Prague The Maharal of Prague, the great teacher Rabbi Yehudah Lowey was born in the year 5272 and passed away 97 years later. (1525-1609) (acronym for Morenu Hagadol Rebi Lowey) Even though he was known as the Maharal of Prague it’s said that it’s more correct to call Prague, ‘Prague of the Maharal’. The Maharal, was one of the outstanding Jewish minds of the sixteenth century. He wrote numerous books on Jewish law, philosophy, and morality, and developed an entirely new approach to the aggada of the Talmud. The Maharal rejected the idea that boys should begin instruction at an early age, insisting instead that children be taught in accordance with their intellectual maturity. He was held in great esteem by his contemporaries and has had a profound impact on all streams of Judaism. Rabbi Kook stated that the “Maharal was the father of the approach of the Gaon of Vilna on the one hand, and of the father of Chasidut, on the other hand.” Rabbi Shneur Zalman, founder of Chabad Chasidism, and a direct descendant of the Maharal, bases much of his famous work – the Tanya – on the teachings of his great grandfather. Ironically, he is credited with the creation of a golem, an activity he would probably have opposed. A golem is a human figure created from clay and brought to life by use of the Ineffable Name of God. Since the letters of that name were considered to be the original source of life, it is thought possible for one knowledgeable in the secrets of the Divine Power to use them to create life. Discussions of golems go back to the Talmud. Rava is said to have created such a man. In the sixteenth century numerous golems were said to have been created, but in each case their power increased and threatened human life, so they were destroyed by their makers. Yehudah Loew of Prague was said to have created a golem to protect the Jewish community from Blood Accusations. It was close to Easter, and a Jew-hating priest was trying to incite the Christians against the Jews. The golem protected the community from hard during the Easter season. However, the creature threatened innocent lives, so Yehudah Loew removed the Divine Name, thus rendering the golem lifeless. Today someone who is large but intellectually slow is sometimes called a golem. Pete Hamill has written a book called Snow in August about a golem created in the late 1940’s in Brooklyn. The Maharal was very active in community work. He did much to improve social ethics. He was a far-seeing educator whose many ideas for educational reform struck deep chords in many people. His resting place in the Old Jewish Cemetery in Prague is still visited today by thousands of people.
