Ready to Teach is a podcast for teachers, by teachers. We’ll showcase teachers’ stories – mistakes and all – the best practices that come from those mistakes, and the research behind it all. We’ll cut through the buzz-words and the trends to discuss what works in the classroom, what doesn’t, and why. As teachers, we know the best people to learn from are other teachers. We also know how difficult it is to build community outside of our own classrooms. Come hear stories and strategies from first, fifth, fifteenth, and fiftieth year teachers; elementary and secondary teachers; and teachers from all subject areas. Stay energized in the grind with fresh perspectives and get practical strategies that you could implement the same day you listen.

Who approaches the scene first risking their lives for the safety of others? We do. The blue canaries, law enforcement. We allow others to tell our stories. It’s time for us to tell our own stories. Blue Canary is a show for cops by a cop, retired Captain Steven Kellams. In each episode, Steve goes behind the scenes of a police department. Giving you real-world insight into why decisions are made, what obstacles are ahead, and how the answers to your questions aren’t always found in the news. It’s unfiltered, it’s relevant and it’s for anyone brave enough to wear a badge.

Have you been a Bachelor and Bachelorette fan since the beginning? If so, you might remember me, Jen Schefft, one of the show’s original stars. I “won” the proposal from The Bachelor Andrew Firestone on season 3 of the infamous ABC television series, that relationship ultimately ended, but I was given another chance at finding love as The Bachelorette – and I was the first Bachelor or Bachelorette star in the show’s history not to make a match! The backlash I experienced led to me writing a book, Better Single Than Sorry: A No-Regrets Guide to Loving Yourself and Never Settling.
After leaving the limelight, I DID find love, and married Joe Waterman, who I met on a blind date. We left Chicago after close to 20 years, and settled into an adorable little Ohio suburb outside of Cleveland with our two daughters, Mae and Charlotte.
From The Bachelor To The Burbs chronicles my life as it is now – a relatable 44-year-old suburban wife and mother of 2, dealing with all the joys and struggles that come life’s way. From chatting about the Bachelor and my incredible experiences on the show to commiserating about the highs and lows that come with marriage, parenting, working, health, beauty and aging – you won’t want to miss it!
Will you accept this rose, and join me on this journey?
