You don’t need to sell all your stuff and jump on an airplane to find out what it’s like to live or travel as a foreigner in Asia! Join the oddly and aptly named Big and White, two expat ladies who have already taken the plunge, as they chat about the joys and sorrows of moving to a new culture and sticking out like a sore thumb. Whether it’s discussing the finer points of driving in Kathmandu traffic, chatting about stomach parasites, or reminiscing about the time they accidentally asked for placenta instead of salt, you’re guaranteed to learn something.

    podcast – absolutely intercultural!

    podcast – absolutely intercultural!

    by

    Since Dec 2, 2022 10:00 UTC

Welcome to the first ever intercultural podcast. ‘Absolutely Intercultural!’ is its name and, as far as we know, this is the first podcast in the world to deal with intercultural issues. We’ll be releasing a new episode every second Friday at lunchtime, looking at all aspects of human intercultural communication. For example, we’ll be hearing from students on foreign work placements, asking how teachers can make use of intercultural exercises and simulations in their classroom and sharing with you any intercultural stories we come across. ‘Absolutely Intercultural!’ won’t be so much about passing on information but more about starting an intercultural dialogue between the makers, and you, the contributors and listeners. The hosts of the show are Anne Fox (CV2, Denmark) and Dr. Elmar-Laurent Borgmann (RheinAhrCampus, Germany).

    Oyster World Radio

    by

    Since Mar 3, 2016 01:00 UTC

This is a podcast about people. A collection of stories from across the globe. Let’s face it, we are all pretty dang busy these days. With a limited budget, and even more scarce vacation days, it can be hard to look beyond your day to day life. We keep hearing the benefits of travel such as the sparks of creativity, the understanding of people and cultures, and the digging into yourself to see whats inside. Although I can’t provide everything travel has to offer through the convenience of your earbuds, what I can do is let you meet people you would never normally met. Meet poets in London, chefs in southern Germany, ghost hunters in Seattle, and an architect in Malaysia. They are all here, and generously share their stories so that we can see a different side of life. These are real stories, told by real people, that really live on the same planet we do, and the more people I meet the more I realize that despite our differences we are all just humans trying to survive on the same rock we call Earth. We are all people.

    Yesterday In Travel

    Yesterday In Travel

    by

    Since Aug 24, 2020 01:56 UTC

Travel is in a weird place. What better time to look back to see how we got here—and where we might go? Each episode, travel industry veterans Brian and Kaleena discuss the big and small moments in travel history that led us to where we are today. Some moments completely rewrote the rules—like the invention of jumbo jets. But we’ll also discuss moments that reflect ongoing trends in travel, like how Disney changed Orlando. In our discussions, we’ll explore how these examples might inform our current state of travel, and the challenges ahead. We’ll talk about everything—domestic politics, electronic music, international relations, new inventions, natural disasters, religious pilgrimages, race, all of it. It’s been a long road. Travel (as we know it) could soon change in a huge way—and it probably should. Our goal is to create a dialogue about the future of travel, and what better way to do that than to look first to the past?

    It’s Called Happenness

    It’s Called Happenness

    by

    Since Aug 21, 2019 11:36 UTC

One of the biggest Happenness moments for us has been moving to a foreign country and creating something out of nothing. Although our hows and whys are different, the core of our stories is the same. You see – we all have it in us: the spark, the fire to achieve to be the greatest version of ourselves. At the same time, we all encounter roadblocks whether it be unforeseen setbacks or rejections, to allowing negativity fill our minds. BUT, what happens when you reach that state of harmony in your mind? When you have your ‘aha’ moment? Everything just flows and we see it all come to place — & that’s @ItsCalledHappenness. It’s not a constant but it’s a state that we can all tap into. We can’t wait for your to hear our stories, but we’re even more excited to hear yours, because one thing we know for sure is that it’s contagious.

In life, there are some things that you can’t control and other you can. Angie & Nicole decided to conciously dedicate August 2020 as a month to focus on body wellness. Body wellness is something that has to be done intentionally, which is one of the reasons why it can be hard for some to stick to it. In this episode, we talk with Vero from Body by Vero and Glow with Vero about the good, not so good, and everything in between when it comes to body wellness. It’s safe to say that we’ve all had moments in our lives where we are super dedicated and focused on our physical wellbeing and feeling great, and then something happens and we fall off track. Been there. Done that. And guess what? It’s OK! Vero talks about her body wellness journey and also how through the years she’s been able to grow a community empowering people to not only be physically fit, but mentally as well. Listen till the end as we have a special announcement to share with you all!

    Beyond Your Border

    Beyond Your Border

    by

    Since Apr 1, 2023 19:56 UTC

Living abroad can be an exciting opportunity, as it opens new doors to travel to new places, meet interesting people, and learn about different cultures. But the glamour can quickly wear off when the difficulties of government bureaucracy, work visas, healthcare, language barriers, or cultural misunderstandings get in our way. While these experiences can be stressful, they can also be equally rewarding because they build our character, increase our patience and understanding, and generate empathy and compassion for others. Adapting to life in a different country can teach you a lot about yourself and what’s important in life. Join me as I talk with individuals and families who have lived abroad as we learn together how their experiences have grown them into the people they are today.
