As we push for truth and raw and unfiltered conversation, some guests will remain anonymous. Tired of party-picking, fake news slinging, and just the general dumbing down of America? Then let’s talk about it! No stone unturned, no topic too risqué or politically incorrect. Politics, religion, equality, racism, prejudice, sex, aliens… This is real life, folks- like it or not. The truth hurts but it’s free.

Tao of Our understanding Alcohol Recovery Podcast

Tao of Our understanding Alcohol Recovery Podcast

    by

    Since Oct 12, 2018 19:05 UTC

In this podcast, we discuss mystical works of literature, primarily Taoist text, and how they relate to alcohol recovery. Taoist Philosophy can be an excellent tool for embracing the idea of a “Higher Power.” Nature offers all of the examples necessary for a concept of a source of all life, much different but yet very similar in many ways to more traditional religious thinking. Here is a link to an online version of the Tao Te Ching; https://ttc.tasuki.org/display:Year:1972,1988,1996,2004/section:1 Thanks for checking out our podcast. If you listen and enjoy this podcast, please share with your friends in recovery! Do you want to stop drinking? Does alcoholism or addiction run in your family? Are you considering how to get sober? Are you seriously thinking about sobriety for the first time being alcohol is controlling your life as never before? Has the idea of a “Higher Power” kept you out of Alcoholics Anonymous or other 12 Step recovery programs?

    A Way Beyond the Rainbow

    A Way Beyond the Rainbow

    by

    Since Jan 3, 2020 08:00 UTC

A podcast series discussing the everyday struggles of Muslims with same-sex attractions (SSA) who want to live a life true to Allah and Islam. I am Waheed Jensen, and I have SSA. In today’s world, it seems the overwhelming narrative out there is “love is love” and “embrace your sexual identity”. There are many of us who find that to be incompatible with the life we want to live, which is a God-conscious life in line with the teachings of Islam. This podcast series is a safe space for Muslims who struggle with SSA, as well as parents, family members, friends, imams, chaplains, community leaders, and the community at large.

What Really Happened at The Lord’s Ranch?

What Really Happened at The Lord’s Ranch?

    by

    Since Sep 27, 2022 21:00 UTC

Two former residents of The Lord’s Ranch go back over 40 years and interview various generations of former residents, staff members, local towns people, and a local award-winning investigative journalist about a religious-based adolescent treatment facility in Warm Springs, Arkansas. The Lord’s Ranch was founded by a financial felon from California; named Bud Suhl. After his time incarcerated, Suhl proclaimed he had turned his life around when he found Jesus. He left California and moved to Randolph County, Arkansas with his new wife Shirley. Bud Suhl opened up inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities for troubled youth. The newly found inpatient facility was in a small town of fewer than 300 residents and has since been the subject of numerous investigations that go as high up as the FBI. The Lord’s Ranch even briefly lost their license three years into business due to numerous complaints of abuse. These investigations ultimately made Bud’s son, Ted a felon as well. In 2016, around 50 years after Bud’s conviction, Ted was convicted of bribery and fraud. Ted got out of prison about 4 1/2 years early when Suhl’s family friend, Mike Huckabee convinced President Donald Trump to commute his seven-year sentence. As it stands right now, nobody has been able to find any documentation indicating how long Bud spent in prison. At any rate, since Ted had his sentence commuted rather than being fully pardoned, he remains a felon for financial crimes committed when his business hit a low point– just like his father. With allegations of mental, physical, and sexual abuse at The Lord’s Ranch, Sammi and Ryan decided to do a deep dive into the matter. Whether it was good, bad, or ugly, they searched for the full truth. The statements in this podcast may sound one-sided but nearly everybody who felt compelled to defend the ranch was unwilling to be interviewed on the podcast. We even offered to let defensive staff members speak while we asked zero questions and agreed to offer no rebuttals to anything the guest said. It would essentially have been a speech in defense of The Lord’s Ranch. But unfortunately, most preferred to type words, rather than speaking on the phone. Some have also tried their best to prevent people from coming onto our podcast to share their story. For somebody claiming innocence, that seems rather suspect. At any rate, we continued asking anybody with any kind of experiece with The Lord’s Ranch what it was like. These are their stories.WARNNG: Some of the details spoken in this podcast are disturbing. Listen at your own risk.

    The Truth and Our Trauma

    The Truth and Our Trauma

    by

    Since Jun 16, 2020 16:07 UTC

You don’t have what it takes. You’re not good enough. It’s always going to be this way. We’ve heard what trauma has to say– now it’s time for the Truth. Trauma inflicts a wound that allows shame to infect the soul. At its core, shame lies to us about who we are and Whose we are – it tells us we are unloved and on our own. And I don’t know about you, but I’m SO tired of listening to all of that. The Truth & Our Trauma is a podcast dedicated to discovering how sacred reconnection breaks the bondages of trauma & shame. We explore ways to practically encounter the Spirit of Truth on the journey to healing, and discuss how to live from our truest identities as daughters & sons of the Living God.
