    A Way Beyond the Rainbow

    A Way Beyond the Rainbow

    by

    Since Jan 3, 2020 08:00 UTC

A podcast series discussing the everyday struggles of Muslims with same-sex attractions (SSA) who want to live a life true to Allah and Islam. I am Waheed Jensen, and I have SSA. In today’s world, it seems the overwhelming narrative out there is “love is love” and “embrace your sexual identity”. There are many of us who find that to be incompatible with the life we want to live, which is a God-conscious life in line with the teachings of Islam. This podcast series is a safe space for Muslims who struggle with SSA, as well as parents, family members, friends, imams, chaplains, community leaders, and the community at large.

Regular hosts are Stacie Mallinson (death doula and yogini) and Jeff Mallinson (D.Phil., Oxford, historian of philosophy and religion). The couple started the show to help people outfox religious wolves, only to realize that they too were entangled in religious ideas that need deconstructing. They now document their life experiences since ghosting church and finding a form of mysticism that is compatible with critical thinking. Unbroken: Reclaiming Your Self After Childhood Trauma

Unbroken: Reclaiming Your Self After Childhood Trauma

    by

    Since Nov 12, 2019 04:40 UTC

Childhood itself is a traumatic experience for most of us. Too many of us carry the scars into adulthood, and it impacts literally every aspect of our lives. We have felt, or been led to believe, that we are damaged, different, scarred, or somehow broken. This impacts our health, our relationships, our sense of “enoughness” and self-worth, and our ability to live a life of prosperity and peace. The truth is, we have shown great courage to keep getting up and going day after day, year after year. What we have perceived as our biggest weakness is in fact our greatest strength. As for me, my life changed when I realized 2 things: 1) There’s only ever now. My only job is to attend to what is coming up in the present and the rest takes care of itself, and 2) It’s not what happened to me, but the meaning I give it (i.e. the story I believed to make it make sense) that continues to cause the damage. Join me on a journey as we band together to show the world that we are not the damaged, defective, or weak, but rather, we are the Unbroken. Host: Pete Buecker Community Site: WeAretheUnbroken.Com This song is about looking into the eyes of unconditional love for the first time: the joy and pain of it. This is one just to listen to and see what it stirs in you. I really love this song. Confessions and Ramblings of a Functioning Psychotic

Confessions and Ramblings of a Functioning Psychotic

    by

    Since Oct 17, 2023 09:00 UTC

Parrish and friends bring to light the absurd yet profound journey we have all experienced from our very different perspectives. As we push for truth and raw and unfiltered conversation, some guests will remain anonymous. Tired of party-picking, fake news slinging, and just the general dumbing down of America? Then let’s talk about it! No stone unturned, no topic too risqué or politically incorrect. Politics, religion, equality, racism, prejudice, sex, aliens… This is real life, folks- like it or not. The truth hurts but it’s free.

    In the Wake

    by

    Since Feb 22, 2019 04:00 UTC

Welcome to In the Wake with Whytli! I am a certified life coach and a mental health advocate. I am also a survivor of sexual and mental abuse. The phrase ‘in the wake’ means the ‘result of something occurring’ and I originally started this podcast as a result of my story and everything I have overcome. I continuously choose to rise up from the trenches and speak up about these various taboo and stigmatized topics. I choose empowerment, growth, and empathy. As I continue on my healing and self growth journey, I will use my voice to share my truth and insights along with amplifying the voices and stories of others. I interview guests whose messages have resonated with and inspired me. Tune in for weekly episodes on all things mental health, survivorship, and self help!!
