Is there a book living in your head that you have always wanted to put to paper but never started? Or do you have a draft of a never-finished book that you set aside and haven’t picked back up? If you are a business owner, entrepreneur, or speaker burning to tell your story and share your expertise with the world, then this podcast is for you. Writing a book can be a slow, arduous process. It can be a struggle to know where you should even start, to figure out what impact you want to have on your readers and what your ultimate purpose is in writing this book. It can be hard to overcome imposter syndrome and recognize that you are an expert in your field and that readers deserve to learn from you. Getting your book out there and having your voice heard can have a positive impact not only on your business but also on your life. In this show, you’ll hear inspiring interviews with published authors who are striving to make a difference in the world. You’ll learn how they overcame self-doubt and roadblocks to speak their truth… and how their book opened the doors to a wider audience, making a bigger impact than they ever thought was possible. The world deserves to hear your story – and you deserve the chance to tell it.

    Brain Burps About Books

    by

    Since Sep 11, 2013 10:00 UTC

Author Katie Davis hosts Brain Burps About Books as a “fly on the wall” show. It’s all about the craft and business of publishing, now including all genres––not just children’s books. Interviews with experts cover publishing, creating, promoting, and writing them. Are you an aspiring writer who’d like to know the inside scoop on how others got their books published? Kid’s books? Indie books? Non-fiction? Or are you already published and want to hear how to make your book trailer? Maybe you’re a librarian or teacher doing an author study or just a fan of kidlit and want to listen to booksellers, editors, authors and other experts in the field talk about the craft and business of publishing, both of children’s literature and beyond. Writer entrepreneur, illustrator, book marketing expert, and author Katie Davis is the host of this funny and informative show meant to help anyone with an interest in publishing, book marketing, video marketing, general book publishing and children’s literature. Since 2010, there have been regular contributors and reviewers, as well as hundreds of interviews with anyone Katie believes will help her listeners in their quest to succeed in their business. Katie Davis’ traditionally published books have sold over 820,000 copies which led to her writing a self-published marketing guide for writers, debuting at #1 on Amazon. Katie teaches writers how to create videos, she coaches other writers in their marketing efforts and presents at schools, conferences, and fundraising galas internationally. She’s an NSA member and on the advisory board for the Brooke Jackman Foundation, a literacy-based charity.

    Just Wanted to Ask

    Just Wanted to Ask

    by

    Since Apr 2, 2022 04:00 UTC

They said I wasn’t smart enough to go to college. I was told that I should go to trade school and become a key-punch operator – does anyone even know any key-punch operators? When I quit my first job, a member of my family was sure that no one would ever hire me. Well, I’m here to tell you that persistence, drive, and creativity win. I am more than fourth generation retail. After joining my mother’s lingerie business, I learned to guess bra sizes, got certified as a mastectomy fitter, and learned how to tailor bras. Following her passing, I saw a product and thought – “I can do better than that.” Crazy as it sounds, I went on a hike and happened to meet a design engineer. He introduced me to a patent attorney. I took everything I had and, with his help, got the patent for Bezi® Bra Discs as well as my first prototype mold. Wholesale to small stores was great, but, I wanted more and have spent years learning about funnels, website building, CRM, customer retention management, as well as workflows, marketing, and social media. From learning to type on an electric typewriter to the computer. Wow, what a journey. Yes, I am here to tell you that anything is possible – even for those of us who others thought could never succeed. When you have curiosity, interest in learning, and drive anything is possible. I am your host Anne Zuckerman and this is the Just Wanted to Ask Podcast.
