Curious, knowledgeable wife of an Ataxian. My mission is to share reputable Ataxia information in short, simple, digestible servings. I want the world to become acquainted with Ataxia and the way it robs someone of their balance, coordination, ability to walk, talk, swallow, and see.

Aspire: The I Have The Right To Podcast

Aspire: The I Have The Right To Podcast

    by

    Since Feb 15, 2025 20:00 UTC

Join the I Have the Right to team and thought leaders as we Aspire to eradicate sexual assault. Inspired by Co-Founder Chessy Prout’s courageous voice and memoir, I Have The Right To- A High School Survivor’s Story of Sexual Assault, Justice and Hope, co-authored by investigative journalist Jenn Abelson, our mission is to create an ecosystem of respect, education, and support for all students!

Aspire is meant to be a beacon of hope and opportunity for growth — by offering a forum for dialogue – about issues affecting our culture and the way we live, interact, love, learn and grow.

Real Men, Real Conversations: Aspire touches on both sides of the coin; Co-Founder of I Have the Right To and father of Chessy Prout, Alex Prout, and High School Student Leaders and Co-Hosts, Hugh Eastman and Gabriel Viscogliosi, share their voices with discussions about what it means to be a man- does it mean being aggressive, stoic, and not taking no for an answer? Or giving your buddy a hug and telling him you love him? Alex, Gabriel, and Hugh share how, across generations, common masculinity tropes impact us all, and how we can inspire the future to act with “aspirational masculinity”. They interview guests to get their perspectives, while discussing how rigid gender norms can create harmful barriers for all. All this, and more, in “Real Men, Real Conversations”.

Survivor Advocacy: In the “Survivor Advocacy” segment, Co-Founder and mother of Chessy Prout, Susan Prout, and Executive Director of I Have the Right To, Katie M. Shipp, highlight the power of survivor voices in driving meaningful change. These episodes —deeply inspired by Chessy’s unwavering courage to speak out despite attempts to silence her— amplify powerful survivor stories, engage with experts, and explore the path forward in the fight for justice and safety. Listeners will gain insight into where we’ve been, where we need to go, and how we can collectively create lasting impact. Together, we’ll explore diverse perspectives to drive meaningful, lasting advocacy and build a safer, more just future for all.

We amplify survivors’ voices and address the root causes of sexual violence by creating open dialogue around its causes. Each episode features a variety of guests discussing survivor experiences, the aftermath of sexual assault, healthy masculinity, and the future we envision – free from sexual assault.

Let’s explore, learn, and aspire together.

    The Bold as Love Podcast

    The Bold as Love Podcast

    by

    Since Sep 25, 2018 14:13 UTC

Parenting can lead us to a threshold in life we hadn’t known before. We’re bringing into the parenting dynamic with our kids the momentum of our previous experiences – our resources and resilience, as well as our disconnection and disembodiment due to trauma (individual, familial, cultural, historical & intergenerational). Beyond the challenges we face to parent in ways we may not have been parented, there is a deep love for our children that wants to be expressed and known in presence with them. There’s also a yearning in us to experience that deep love ourselves; to feel our power and to live authentically, just as we yearn to protect that for our kids, too. The urgency to heal what’s still alive within us might come up with a force because of them, and yet it’s ultimately a reclamation of our life force, vitality, joy, connection and creativity we’re most hungry for. It’s sometimes a desire bold as love that fuels our courage to meet what we fear to face.

    Exploring Awareness

    Exploring Awareness

    by

    Since Jan 30, 2020 04:02 UTC

“Find Peace and Joy in the most unlikely places”. Season One Season One of the Exploring Awareness Podcast provides listeners a dual learning opportunity. First, to learn about and, through guided meditations, experience Mindful Awareness, Being and Presence and the innate Peace, Joy, Compassion that come from this practice. Starting with the first episode and listening through to episode 62, you will increasingly understand how a Mindful Awareness perspective connects one back to the essence of being. Secondly, listeners will witness the awakening of the co-host Lisa Barry, a long-time on-air radio broadcast interviewer for her local NPR station. Witness her awakening as she questions, struggles, and then integrates these concepts and practices until her untimely death. Episode 63, grieving her death, is an example of applying Mindful Awareness to grief, with the help of David Whyte’s poem, The Well of Grief. Lisa called this process a “Big Fun Journey”, and although the process of awakening can be difficult, you will see that realizing the expansiveness and freedom from knowing one’s authentic self transforms the day-to-day concerns of a pre-occupied mind into Presence and Being. From our original description- Join Lisa Barry, a long-time on-air radio broadcast interviewer and Frank Anderson MD MPH professor at the University of Michigan Medical School and School of Public Health on a journey to explore ways that provide another approach to look at and deal with life to enjoy each day as it unfolds- whatever happens. Learn from lively discussions as two people on a path of self-discovery, share conversations about mindfulness and other techniques and decide for yourself if a shift in perspective can lead to a more authentic life experience informed by an innate and ever-present peace, joy, generosity and love. This podcast is a resource for those interested in starting a journey to deeper meaning in life and who may be looking for a unique way to get started. Experienced Mediators, or those who have never tried…burned out professionals, overwhelmed students and anyone exploring the issues of sexual, gender and racial identities will find tools to increase comfort and personal agency. No matter where you are in your journey, there are lessons shared both practical and inspirational to help anyone live a more balanced and self-aware life. Earthling Lotus

    Earthling Lotus

    by

    Since Feb 4, 2019 16:00 UTC

Hello! Welcome to the Earthling Lotus podcast. My name is Lauren, and this is the podcast where we discuss anything and everything in-between within this experience we call…life. (as well as hear the stories of other creatives and artists along the way.) So I hope you’re ready to create a life that you love, and learn to embody the most authentic version of yourself. Let the journey begin… “Earthling” represents all of the living beings, organisms, and plants that inhabit planet Earth here with us humans. “Lotus” represents that all Earthlings are constantly changing, evolving, growing, and expanding in every way, shape, and form to become the very best version of themselves; embodying a sense of love and happiness from the very depths of their being out to every part of this universe, along with gratitude for everything and life itself. This also speaks for those of whom have dealt with immense struggle and darkness throughout parts of their lives, and then come to a point in which their soul is awakened and transforms into a being full of light and love; just as a lotus starts out down in the depths of dark water and soil and then emerges out into the world full of radiance and beauty despite what it may have taken to get there. So, together, Earthling Lotus represents the ever-changing, evolving, transformative beings that we all embody as a collective consciousness. we are one. All earthlings working together in unity for Earth to thrive, which in turn allows us to survive. Each and every being on Earth is here for a reason, and we all are meant to grow and live our own purpose, our own journey, on our own path of life. Throughout the twists, turns, ups, downs, ebbs, and flows, it’s the realization that everything happens for a reason, and that we are always right where we are meant to be, that is the essence of Earthling Lotus.

    Since Mar 3, 2016 01:00 UTC

This is a podcast about people. A collection of stories from across the globe. Let’s face it, we are all pretty dang busy these days. With a limited budget, and even more scarce vacation days, it can be hard to look beyond your day to day life. We keep hearing the benefits of travel such as the sparks of creativity, the understanding of people and cultures, and the digging into yourself to see whats inside. Although I can’t provide everything travel has to offer through the convenience of your earbuds, what I can do is let you meet people you would never normally met. Meet poets in London, chefs in southern Germany, ghost hunters in Seattle, and an architect in Malaysia. They are all here, and generously share their stories so that we can see a different side of life. These are real stories, told by real people, that really live on the same planet we do, and the more people I meet the more I realize that despite our differences we are all just humans trying to survive on the same rock we call Earth. We are all people.
