Straight from the Source’s Mouth: Frank Talk about Sex and Dating

Straight from the Source’s Mouth: Frank Talk about Sex and Dating

    by

    Since Aug 8, 2021 02:00 UTC

Frank talk about sex and dating. Advice from experts as well as real talk from real people so that you can see you are not alone in your thoughts and experiences. I talk about sex in my stand-up comedy and people often tell me that I say what they are thinking but are too afraid to say or admit it to their partners; too taboo they think. We’ll talk about books we’ve read on dating, relationships and sex so that you can gain knowledge without having to read all the books yourself. I’ll interview people on both sides of an issue: people who are great at dating and unsuccessful at dating…learn from the person who’s great and also learn what not to do! We’ll do the same with sex and relationships so that you can learn what works so you don’t need to repeat others’ past mistakes. I’ll interview sex coaches and love coaches. We intend this to be a how-to guide. Hit subscribe and join us!

    What Editors Want

    What Editors Want

    by

    Since Jul 4, 2019 15:28 UTC

What Editors Want is a new podcast in which I interview a different editor each week from the world of publishing. It’s aimed at readers who want to hear the behind the scenes story of how their favourite books get made, and aspiring authors who want to know how to get published.

I’ve spoken to everyone from the biggest names in the industry to independent publishers taking a dynamic and innovative approach to making books. Along the way I’ve met the editors behind Nobel and Booker Prize winning authors (and practically every other literary prize), ground-breaking non-fiction (from The Panama Papers to Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race), with everything from kid’s books to cookbooks in between.

My dream is that this podcast will make the world of books more approachable and inclusive for the authors and publishing professionals of tomorrow by hearing about the career paths of industry leading editors, and how they choose their books.

Philip Connor Finn is an editor at award-winning publisher Unbound. He is the winner of the Faber & Faber Scholarship to UCL and the Cuirt Festival’s New Writing Prize. He writes for publications including Boundless, Caught by the River and The Times Literary Supplement.

    Take a Wander with Shebs

    Take a Wander with Shebs

    by

    Since Jun 7, 2021 22:30 UTC

Take a Wander with Shebs showcases some of the top personalities in the tourism industry.

What distinguishes this podcast from other travel podcasts? Each episode tries to take my guests on a journey to uncover matters they may not have discussed on their platform or in the media. The show’s subjects for discussion will cover more than simply travel locations, favourite places or foods, and how to travel efficiently.

I go deeper into why and what an individual may have learnt from a trip or what influence an event or occasion had on their lives whilst travelling. There are no topics that are off-limits. The podcast’s goal is to keep listeners guessing and to motivate them to travel, learn, and be better individuals overall.

Get ready to be inspired and Take a Wander with Shebs!

    Dear Discreet Guide

    by

    Since Apr 30, 2020 12:00 UTC

Mostly books but also TV & movies, & music, & stuff people make or do, author & creator & fan interviews with host Jennifer Crittenden.

English writer, classics teacher, and former police officer, Mark Knowles, joins us to talk about Reacher, the Amazon series; Killing Floor, the book it’s based on; and its British author Lee Child. We analyze what’s the same or different between the show and the book, what we like about Reacher, and how he resembles a classic Homeric hero. We also talk about stuff that got changed in the show and whether or not we approve (like the thing with the dog and some woke additions), plus some challenges inherent to transferring a monosyllabic loner to the screen. Spoilers! A fun episode with a fun guest.

Literary Guise: A Book Club for Modern Men

    by

    Since Feb 28, 2021 02:00 UTC

A book club where we (those who identify as men and those who want to understand men better) review great works of literature and discuss what they have to say about masculine archetypes. We are two life-long friends, one straight, one gay; a writer, and a doctor of computer science and philosophy, who have vastly different ideas of what it means to be a man. We’re here to take a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly and to grow along the way.

Blunt, and no, not weed Podcast

Blunt, and no, not weed Podcast

    by

    Since Mar 12, 2020 05:18 UTC

I’ve been told my whole life that I’m a little blunt, not sharp, blunt. I simply lack the finesse required for sharpness. Maybe it’s because I’m a Sagittarius or the fact that I am a sensitive bitch, nonetheless my mind is both a scary and enlightened place, sometimes my mind is kind to me, sometimes it hates me. I sometimes like it here, I sometimes don’t, and the older I get the more I’m fucking okay with that. I don’t have all the answers, nor do I claim to (well to be fair sometimes I really do have the answers, I just don’t like them). I’m on a learning, discovering, and enlightenment journey. I have questions, many questions, for life and the experiences it encompasses. Something I say a lot is the expression “that makes no sense” and usually it slips, sometimes I scream it out, sometimes under my breath when I come to the realization that there is a bigger picture. That many of the things we are raised to believe make sense really don’t. I love love these moments because it means I’ve been given a chance to learn, listen, and grow from someone’s story, experiences, and existence. In these moments my mind got bigger, my capacity for understanding and knowledge expounded and my empathy beamed. So this podcast will simply be me asking a lot of questions, talking, and learning about whatever I want. So come along! You may agree or you may disagree BUT just remember life is full of glitter and glue and we ebb and we flow!

Most of us had one of those moments at the beach when time stopped. The DJ spun in our head, and we dropped the shit to some babe-liscious babe we hadn’t noticed. Someone you wouldn’t introduce to your momma, but would fly to the moon with right there and then. Oh, the guilt… Jeremy had one of these beach guilty pleasures just last year down at the beach in Australia. This year he hopes to find the pleasure of love as he gives that naughty Australian beach a second browsing.
