    You’re Doing Great Sweetie!

    You’re Doing Great Sweetie!

    Since Jul 19, 2021 09:23 UTC

Burnt out? Feel like you’re juggling like an unhinged circus clown and dropping balls left, right and centre? SAME. You’re Doing Great Sweetie is a podcast for anyone who feels like they’ve fallen off the train of life. Maybe you never remember to refill the Brita filter. Or you just re-read Twilight for the 14th time instead of that Book Club book. Life is hard, we try our best, and often we forget that it’s not about being perfect or keeping up with everyone else.

We’re here to tell you it’s okay, we’re in the same boat as you – and you’re doing great, sweetie. Join us each week as we chat candidly about life, from the serious stuff to the stupid stuff.

Hosted by Melissa Mason & Josie Rozenberg-Clarke.

Built by creative professionals for creative professionals, at Optimize Yourself we believe it is absolutely possible to love what you do for a living…without having to sacrifice your health, relationships, or sanity in the process. Creative burnout is NOT inevitable! In a nutshell this podcast is a combination of Tim Ferriss meets Ted Lasso (minus the mustache). Hosted by Zack Arnold (ACE) – an award-winning Hollywood editor, producer, and director, a career coach, an American Ninja Warrior, and most importantly a father – these raw, honest, and candid conversations will both provide you with the necessary tools to optimize your creative potential as well as inspiring you to believe that you can.Whether it’s American Ninja Warrior superstar Jessie Graff (Zack’s ninja trainer), P90X creator Tony Horton (Zack’s fitness trainer), or Ramit Sethi (Zack’s business mentor)…or perhaps industry legends such as Walter Murch, Jeffrey Ford, Roger Barton, or Eddie Hamilton…or productivity gurus such as David Allen (GTD), Cal Newport (Deep Work), or James Clear (Atomic Habits),…we’ll provide you with the strategies, resources, and mindsets to help you design a clear path towards the more balanced, more productive, and more fulfilling life you deserve.

Thrivival 101: A Fresh Take on Self-Care for Female Mental Health Clinicians

Thrivival 101: A Fresh Take on Self-Care for Female Mental Health Clinicians

    by

    Since Jan 31, 2022 22:00 UTC

We are Dr. Melissa Tiessen and Dr. Karen Dyck of Intentional Therapist. As mental health clinicians we all know that self-care is important. We talk with our clients about it ALL.THE.TIME and yet, ironically, we often struggle with it ourselves! Even worse, we tend to do this in silence, because, who wants to let any of our colleagues know that we might be struggling with our own self-care? After all, aren’t we supposed to be the experts in this?!

Here’s the thing: There are unique factors (about our training, our work, and our gender socialization) that contribute to the very real and normal struggle that we, especially as female mental health clinicians, have when it comes to our own self-care. The good news is that together we can lessen the struggle but only if we’re willing to break the silence.

We hope that through our down-to-earth discussions with other like-minded female mental health clinicians you will find the courage to elevate your own self-care, and move from simply surviving to truly thriving. Because, in the end, taking care of ourselves is not only how we best take care of our clients, but it’s also how we create the kind of life from which we don’t need to escape. (We know, intriguing concept!)
