    by

    Since Apr 9, 2018 21:36 UTC

It’s easy to lose your way in the 21st-century economy. The world of work and business is changing so rapidly that you might start focusing more on how to keep up than how to live a meaningful life. What Works is a podcast for entrepreneurs, independent workers, and employees who don’t want to lose themselves to the whims of late-stage capitalism. Host Tara McMullin covers money, management, culture, media, philosophy, and more to figure out what’s working (and what’s not) today. Tara offers a distinctly interdisciplinary approach to the discourse around business, work, and personal growth.

    boys go to baghdad

    by

    Since Dec 1, 2018 02:00 UTC

“Boys go to Baghdad, but real men go to Tehran” was a joke in neocon circles during the Bush administration. We think it’s a glimpse of how duplicitous U.S. foreign policy is. Here we counter the type of propaganda that justified the invasion of Iraq, and continues to justify bitch-ass policy against Iran and countless other nations today.

    Mi’kmaq: First Nation people – for iPad/Mac/PC

    Mi’kmaq: First Nation people – for iPad/Mac/PC

    by

    Since Apr 16, 2013 09:06 UTC

Can heritage continue to inform the way we live today? Is it possible to balance traditional ideas with a modern life? The Mi’kmaq people have had roots in Conne River Newfoundland in Canada for generations, but it was only officially designated as a reserve in 1987. Many of its indigenous inhabitants still feel a connection with the past and in recent times there has been a revival of interest in Mi’kmaq culture. These films give insight into Mi’kmaq life and examine the renewal of traditional customs by interviewing key members of the community who discuss the benefits and difficulties in attempting to hold on to their ancestry. This material forms part of the Open University course A332 Why is religion controversial?

    The Market For Liberty

    The Market For Liberty

    by

    Since Apr 12, 2009 22:56 UTC

Well over a quarter century old, Morris and Linda Tannehill’s iconoclastic “The Market for Liberty” is one of the most important books of our time. Written originally in 1970, it is even more relevant now in an era of rapidly vanishing personal liberty caused by an ever more intrusive and expensive government. “The Market for Liberty” is the antidote to years of government indoctrination, lies and misinformation. Using clear and concise language, the Tannehills provide an entire rethinking of the whole organization of society, advocating the use of natural law and voluntary interaction as the basis for it rather than the force and coercion of government.
