    by

    Since Dec 8, 2024 18:00 UTC

A weekly podcast and Bible study hosted by Glen & Lydia Farell. They are a married couple from Texas, discussing traditional evangelical church beliefs and answering the question “But is it Biblical?” to determine if the belief is truly taught in the Bible.

If you attend an evangelical or protestant church, this podcast is for you! Heck, even if you don’t, come on in and stay awhile.

Explore what the Bible truly says (or doesn’t say) about topics, including those pesky ones that the church tends to ignore or gloss over.

Learn how to properly translate and interpret passages based on the culture, context, author intent, and audience of the Biblical writings.

Get familiar with how to use https://www.blueletterbible.org/ , a Bible study resource.

    Salty Dogs Christian Podcast

    Salty Dogs Christian Podcast

    by

    Since Feb 20, 2017 20:15 UTC

We‘re maybe not your average Christian podcast. A few years ago, these kinds of conversations weren‘t really happening, but it‘s a lot more prevalent today. The Salty Dogs Podcast is all about asking questions, and seeking out answers. Where we may take it out on “the Church”, you should know we have always looked inward to bring our own hearts and minds under correction most of all.

Although the show ended in March 2021, our episodes live on. If you‘ve stumbled upon our show and it‘s had any impact on you, whether good or bad, let us know. We take emails at SaltyDogsPodcast@gmail.com

    The Faith Studio

    by

    Since Mar 16, 2023 15:00 UTC

The Faith Studio is a “church adjacent”, ecumenical, interactive, dialogical, digital faith community, which is intentional about connection, exploring faith and offering inspiration. The Faith Studio aims to hold the church door open a little wider for Christians who desire to inquire beyond their church’s world view, for those who are on the fringes of the local assembly for issues related to diversity of thought or being, and for those who are good with God but not with the structures that surround God.”For where two or three are gathered together because they are mine, I will be right there among them.” ~Matt. 18:20 NLTThis is our guiding scripture and while we may look (digital community) and operate differently (heavy on conversation, lite on preaching), at our genesis The Faith Studio is simply a fresh take on Christian fellowship and formation.Come with your faith, Come with your curiosity, Come prayerfully and let us reason together.

Grace Hill Church – Collierville, TN

    by

    Since Aug 21, 2016 15:30 UTC

WE ARE BECOMING A COMMUNITY OF GRACE AND PEACE FOR THE GOOD OF OUR CITY AND THE FAME OF JESUS. Our vision was born out of an angst. We find ourselves in a unique cultural moment in the west. John Mark Comer, a pastor, and writer from Portland, OR, says this: While 49% of millennials and 65% of American adults as a whole still identify as “Christian” in national surveys, a recent in-depth analysis by the Barna Group, a Christian Think Tank, put the number of young adults who are “resilient disciples” at 10%. Christians in the West are now considered what sociologists call a “cognitive minority.” Meaning our worldview and value system are at sharp odds with the culture around us. So how do we respond to that? One way to respond to this is to point the finger out at the world and blame culture, blame society and blame others. Or, we can take an honest evaluation of the church in the west, our local churches and see where we have failed, have conversations with a few of the 90% of young adults who are not considered resilient disciples, learn from them, learn from our mistakes, and see where we might have opportunities to recapture imagination for what the church should be. We believe the better solution is the latter. That is what has led us to our vision. “becoming a community of grace and peace for the good of our city and the fame of Jesus.” We meet at the Malco in Collierville, TN, every Sunday at 9:30am. Why I Stay

    by

    Since Jan 6, 2022 23:16 UTC

There are lots of podcasts and articles about why so many people are leaving religion, but a more interesting question to ask is why people stay, especially those who have been judged, shamed, demonized, or abused by their religious communities. In Why I Stay, we tell stories of faithfulness in the face of judgement, hurt, and betrayal.

Sacrilegious Discourse – Bible Study for Atheists

Sacrilegious Discourse – Bible Study for Atheists

    by

    Since Aug 3, 2020 22:48 UTC

Husband and Wife are two non-believers who have always wanted to read the Bible. Why would we subject ourselves to this you might ask? From our perspective it helps us understand where the Christians around us, here in the Midwest, are coming from when they quote the Bible at us. Husband is basically an Atheist and wife leans Agnostic but mostly Atheist and we’re just having some fun at the Bible’s expense while learning more about what our neighbors claim we’re going to hell over.
