    The Daily Adventures of Mixerman

    by

    Since Aug 2, 2022 17:00 UTC

Mixerman is a Los Angeles recording engineer who in the summer of 2002, on nothing more than a hunch, began to chronicle the daily events of his Major Label recording session with a bidding-war band, an infamous producer, and a limitless budget. And he did it in real-time—each night posting his entries on the Internet, withholding only the true identities of those he writes about. As Gina Arnold from Metro Newspapers reported at the time: “Mixerman is supposed to be writing about recording techniques, but somehow, through that prism, he has hit upon a gripping story. In this podcast, you will hear an audio dramatization of the story, as narrated by Mixerman, complete with music, foley, sound fx, and character performances by some of the most famous engineers and producers in the music business.

If I had to label myself anything, it would be a learner—I am a lifelong learner. I have a nonstop appetite for learning, especially around the bigness and depth of life. Why am I here? Who is really running the show? How can I be happy and alive all at the same time? This audio diary is about me learning all I can about life and then sharing it here, with you, and with all of us. I explore my own life and the lives of others, but really, on a very core level, my intention for Into the Living Room is for this to be something you can turn on when you need to be inspired, energized, and reminded of who you are.

Geoff Desiato is a husband and father of two, with the responsibility to provide for his family. He’s a proud high-school graduate who has worked full-time since he was 17 years old. But after 13 years of working for “The Man,” and being told that he needed to go back to school if he wanted to be successful, Geoff experienced a pre-mid-life crisis. Like many people, Geoff had passions and dreams but not the ability or confidence to pursue them. With the support of his wife, Geoff decided it was time to find a suitable career that would allow him to pursue his dreams while still providing for his family and doing something he loved. So Geoff set out on his entrepreneurial journey by diving into the Real Estate industry. Upon getting his first taste of self-employment, Geoff became fascinated with entrepreneurship, and has since dedicated his time and energy to helping people who feel trapped in their day jobs discover how they are uniquely positioned to change the world! As a result of his persistence, Geoff is now working full-time as an actor. This podcast is for people who struggle with balancing their day job while pursuing their dream job.
