About Noelle:
Noelle is a Professional Librarian with a background in the classics who takes great pains to beat about the head and shoulders those unwilling to use the miraculous tools of the modern age (like the intarwebz) to inform their damn selves on important issues. She is the Red Lantern Sith Lord She Hulk of the Podcast and the reason it’s explicit. Noelle is the beauty and the brains…
About Bill:
Bill is a Hufflepuff. He is the tech behind the podcast. He also generally organizes the podcast (badly). Bill in that case is just the brawn and the white guy.

Sport is a massive global phenomenon. Events and sporting heroes attract an enormous amount of interest. What’s going on? Why do sporting heroes matter so much and why is the media full of sports news? This album uses interviews with four key people in sport (Ed Smith, Sue Tibballs, Ed Warner and Sunder Katwala) to explore the relationship between sport and the media and considers the role of media representations in constructing our understanding of sport and creating its place in the wider popular culture. Course chair, Professor Kath Woodward also reflects on the course and the material in this album through two academic perspectives. This material forms part of the course D170 This Sporting Planet.

Can You Hear Us? is a podcast by Monica Abad Yang and Madiera Dennison in partnership with the Department of International Development at LSE. The podcast is the first initiative of its kind in the Department and has the overall aim to prioritise BIPOC women and femmes’ specific experiences and narratives by creating a space where we can discuss a multitude of topics that affect us as women, women of colour (WOC) and women in professional spaces such as: Colourism or Work Life Balance. The name Can You Hear Us? originates from the COVID-19 pandemic as it is commonly repeated on Zoom but also symbolically reflects the work left to do to empower WOC.
