    Beyond Your Border

    Beyond Your Border

    by

    Since Apr 1, 2023 19:56 UTC

Living abroad can be an exciting opportunity, as it opens new doors to travel to new places, meet interesting people, and learn about different cultures. But the glamour can quickly wear off when the difficulties of government bureaucracy, work visas, healthcare, language barriers, or cultural misunderstandings get in our way. While these experiences can be stressful, they can also be equally rewarding because they build our character, increase our patience and understanding, and generate empathy and compassion for others. Adapting to life in a different country can teach you a lot about yourself and what’s important in life. Join me as I talk with individuals and families who have lived abroad as we learn together how their experiences have grown them into the people they are today.

Join the oddly and aptly named Big and White, two expat ladies who have already taken the plunge, as they chat about the joys and sorrows of moving to a new culture and sticking out like a sore thumb. Hi, hey, hello! I’m Stacy, your host of Second Act Expat inviting you to experience a whole new world through my podcast.

And in case you’re wondering about the name of the podcast…

    Second Act (Stacy’s definition)

/ˈsɛk(ə)nd akt/: a pursuit, pivot or life-shift usually after an extended period of routine

(i.e. “the first act”), stemming from an epiphany, self-reflection and/or the ultimate desire to improve one’s circumstances or realize one’s dreams.
After many years of working a thankless desk job in a stuffy corporate atmosphere she decided that her second act would be quitting her job and pursuing her dream of becoming a chef.

Emigrant’s Life Podcast – Stories of people who left their country to chase a better life

    by

    Since Mar 25, 2020 00:07 UTC

Hi, I’m Daniel De Biasi, and I’m fascinated by people who achieved incredible things. In this podcast, I want to share with you stories of people who emigrate and re-start their life in a new country. I invite you to join me as I explore emigrant’s stories. We would dive deep into how they did it, what reasons pushed them to leave their life behind, what challenges they faced, and what they managed to accomplish. I left Italy at 27, moved to the opposite side of the world, New Zealand, and then to Canada. If you have emigrated or thinking of doing it, or just curious about other people’s stories, this is the podcast for you.
