    Interrupt The Pattern

    Interrupt The Pattern

    by

    Since Nov 21, 2014 19:16 UTC

We dedicate this work to the brave and humble that are willing to do the most challenging work known to man: that deep and constant journey within the self to look at and embrace those things within us that we don’t like, that don’t serve us, and that continue to cause the painful experiences in our lives. We’re dedicated to those who understand we are neither good nor bad. Instead, we are consciously willing to continue the journey to our highest self. Our wish is that you will identify with the experiences and lessons we present and that, from them; you will develop a new picture of yourself and realize your highest potential from it. Our wish is that you Interrupt The Pattern.

    Repeat Customer

    by

    Since May 7, 2018 17:08 UTC

Why do we have nothing but love for some brands—and, hate others with a passion? Repeat Customer is all about examining truly great customer experiences: How companies create them, and why superfans love them so much. CEOs, chief customer officers, and industry experts reveal the inside stories of how iconic companies rose to prominence by solving pain points, reimagining touch points, disrupting traditional business models, and staking their entire success on inventive, customer-focused approaches. And die-hard superfans share stories of their (sometimes) zany expressions of brand love. Hosted by Mio Adilman, produced by Zendesk. New episodes every other Monday.

Challenging ideas in mental health – for iPod/iPhone

Challenging ideas in mental health – for iPod/iPhone

    by

    Since Apr 26, 2009 21:31 UTC

Mental health service users often feel – and often are – disempowered from taking control of their own destiny. The video tracks on this album tell the story of people who have been confined to the psychiatric wing of a large Northern hospital. Scripted and acted by mental health service users/survivors, A Quiet Night on Roundhay Wing presents an insiders’ perspective on the people and practices that have dominated – and defined – their lives, often over many years. Although the events portrayed did not actually take place, it is a true story in the sense that it is grounded in and reflects people’s real experiences. The audio tracks explore some of the issues raised by the drama, and present perspectives on the album from Ann Mitchell, lecturer in mental health nursing at The Open University. The material forms part of The Open University course K272, Challenging ideas in mental health.

Changing the way we work – for iPod/iPhone

    by

    Since Oct 9, 2009 02:32 UTC

What does the future hold for our working lives? This album explores the ways in which organisations are changing; the breaking down of traditional hierarchical structures, the increasing emphasis on self-management, customer-orientated teams, the use of technology to enable more remote working and the blurring of boundaries between organisations, as they form partnerships with each other. It also asks how these changes will affect the way managers will work in the future. This material forms part of The Open University course B822 Creativity, innovation and change.

A User’s Manual for the Human Experience

A User’s Manual for the Human Experience

    by

    Since May 20, 2009 15:57 UTC

Learn to block and delete idiots from your life. Remove addiction to bad people, drugs, alcohol, government and more (WITHOUT MEETINGS!) Then use your new-found time and energy to MAKE A LIVING DOING WHAT YOU LOVE, like the author does. A USER’S MANUAL FOR THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE is a libertarian manifesto for getting healthy, getting brilliant, maximizing potential and changing the world. WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS BOOK: “Part intellectual memoir, part self-help book. Michael W. Dean’s Practical Emotional Self-Defense (PESD) techniques flow from a wealth of life experiences, both positive and negative. ‘The Only Two Rules in Life’ have some radical, refreshing implications.” –Jason Sorens, Ph.D. (Assistant Professor, University at Buffalo, SUNY), founder of the Free State Project “You owe yourself the opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and put yourself in the court with this modern-day Socrates.” –Pastor Kenneth V. Blanchard, Sr., author of Black Man with a Gun “I knew Michael Dean back in the day, when he was a 19-year-old punk rocker with an appetite for self-destruction. I honestly didn’t think he’d live to be 30. But guess what? It turns out that Michael isn’t just a survivor; he’s a survivor who’s learned how to enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness after recovery. For everyone who wants to know how to stay sane, develop a great work ethic, and make a mark on the world, Michael Dean has a great story to tell.” –Professor Michael Bérubé, Ph.D. (Penn State), author of What’s Liberal About the Liberal Arts? and Life as We Know It ABOUT THE AUTHOR: An anagram for “Michael Dean” is “Deal Machine,” and that truly fits. Dean never sits on his laurels, and he’s constantly working hard and well in new directions. Michael Wareham Dean is the author of the books “$30 Film School”, “$30 Music School”, “$30 Writing School”, “Starving in the Company of Beautiful Women”, “The Simple Pleasures of a Complex Girl”, “DIY NOW! Digital Audio” and “YouTube: an Insider’s Guide to Climbing the Charts.” He runs the libertarian pop-culture blog, Stink Fight. Michael directed the films “Hubert Selby Jr: It/ll Be Better Tomorrow” and “D.I.Y. or DIE: How to Survive as an Independent Artist.” Michael played guitar in the band The Beef People. He sang and played bass in Baby Opaque and Bomb (Warner Brothers). Michael W. Dean and his wife Debra Jean Dean are both professional voiceover artists, and also run The Nestlandia Institute, a think tank. They live in an undisclosed location in Southern California with their three cats. They plan to move to a farm in rural Wyoming this fall.

    Exploring Psychology – Audio

    Exploring Psychology – Audio

    by

    Since Jul 8, 2009 00:44 UTC

How humans think, develop, and experience the world around us has been fascinating psychologists for over 100 years. The tracks in this album cover a range of case studies, looking at factors which can influence the development of our personalities. What is the impact of significant people in our early lives? How do you go about the process of researching topics like this in social psychology? The audio tracks feature disabled people who reflect on how disability has affected their sense of identity. Also featured are the cases of twins who didn’t grow up together, people coping with memory loss, and the famous case of the soprano Lisa-Lee who discovered in her twenties that a rare genetic disorder meant she was actually a girl, not a boy. Studying people through such issues as gender disorder and disability allows psychologists to learn more about the human condition. This material forms part of The Open University course DSE212 Exploring psychology.
