Barely There Theatre releases radio plays for free with behind-the-scenes rehearsal audio coming out in the following weeks. The plays will be polished pieces while the rehearsals will be mostly unmastered recordings of the rehearsal process. The goal is: a) To produce plays people anywhere can access for free. b) Give people an insight into what the creative process looks like for each project. The plays themselves will be about… we don’t know yet. They’ll range in tone from funny to serious, quaint to existential, mature to not-so-mature. Down the road there may be more visual components to each podcast, but that’s a hurdle for another day. Find us at our website, https://www.barelytheretheatre.com/

This is the age of the “superfad”. Products, ideas and habits that surge into our collective conscience – and frequently burn out just as fast. In this new podcast from Stuff, two of our millennial reporters dive into the crazes. Laura Walters and Katie Kenny have spent a week in a waist trainer, crammed into a tiny house and vegged out on the couch for hours of binge watching to deliver Superfad. Each episode combines lively insights and revealing personal stories from well-known New Zealanders. We also explore the important social and cultural questions raised by the rapid rise and fall of 21st century fads.

I’ve been going to science fiction, fantasy, horror, and comic book conventions since I was 15, and I’ve found that while the con which takes place within the walls of a hotel or convention center is always fun, the con away from the con—which takes place when I wander off-site with friends for a meal—can often be more fun. In fact, my love of tracking down good food while traveling the world attending conventions has apparently become so well known that one blogger even dubbed me “science fiction’s Anthony Bourdain.” So I’ve decided to replicate in podcast form one of my favorite parts of any convention—good conversation with good friends over good food. During each episode, I’ll share a meal with someone whose opinions I think you’ll want to hear, and we’ll talk about science fiction, fantasy, horror, writing, comics, movies, fandom … whatever happens to come to mind. (There’ll also be food talk, of course.) Please note—this will not be a pristine studio-recorded podcast, but one which will always occur in a restaurant setting, meaning that mixed in with our conversation will be the sounds of eating and drinking and reviewing of menus and slurping and background chatter and the servers popping in … in other words, it’ll be as messy as life. And I hope you’ll find it as entertaining, too.

Having reset my life, I decided to leave the corporate world and pursue my passion for helping people live their lives to the fullest. I am a certified life coach specializing in digital detox, self-care, and building actionable life plans. In 2019, I opened a wellness boutique and followed it up in 2023 with a women’s cannabis wellness retreat company and a line of cannabis apparel.
I have realized that our wellness largely depends on our MOOD.
This inspired me to create a MOODment through my podcast and blog to empower individuals to achieve what they truly deserve by shifting their moods. The podcast balances between being a little woo-woo and 100% practical. It will cover topics such as astrology, fitness, wellness, essential oils, stress, digital detox, self-care, meditation, sleep, nutrition, and more.
If you are tired of the monotony in your life and seek to transform through a straightforward approach, be sure to subscribe and listen to my podcast.
