Today we’re talking with 18th century artist and knifemaker Steve Auvenshine about his history in muzzleloading and how his life as a Kentucky state trooper started him down a muzzleloading path that started with a CVA kit and lead to Hollywood production. Steve is credited for 13 movies/tv shows, including 1923, Pale Blue Eye, Jurassic World, and Crossbones with one more on the way. You’ve seen his work hanging from the belts of Chris Pratt and the Rock and he’s quite possibly cleaned the most muzzleloaders featured on the silver screen.

    History of the Marine Corps

    History of the Marine Corps

    by

    Since Mar 1, 2019 19:41 UTC

Join host, Robert Estrada, as he takes you back before the United States was a thought. Starting with the rise of Tun Tavern, History of the Marine Corps covers significant U.S. events, conflicts, strategies, political decisions, and the origin of Marine Corps traditions. What role did Marines play during the American Revolution? What challenges did Lieutenant Presley O’Bannon face as he marched towards Tripoli? How did Marines get to the Halls of Montezuma? We’ll dig into the details and share the story of the Corps. Neither the United States Marine Corps nor any other component of the Department of Defense has approved, endorsed, or authorized this product (or promotion, or service, or activity).

The United States spent eight years occupying the Dominican Republic, and the Marines were responsible for maintaining law and order. We discuss the challenges of US intervention and end the episode by reviewing a similar scenario taking place next door in Haiti.

    American Journey

    American Journey

    by

    Since May 2, 2017 01:31 UTC

We are a nation of immigrants! Some of us got here yesterday, some of us centuries ago, and some of us move about from state to state. Hosted by Jeremy Rishe, a New York based actor/writer, American Journey is an oral history of the people who inhabit the United States, and how they or their families came here. It is in our nature to explore and make better lives for ourselves. For many generations now the United States has been a place where people come from all over the world to do just that, either achieving their dreams or not. Our goal is to capture those stories. — Our original theme music, Immigration Experience, is by Cameron Bossert.
