Historian and journalist Tony Perrottet unearths sexual stories from throughout the ages. The series is modeled on the “secret cabinets” in Victorian museums, where medieval chastity belts, Renaissance pornography and perverse novels by the Marquis de Sade were hidden. Each episode will answer a burning question: How did Napoleon’s penis end up in suburban New Jersey? Are champagne glasses modeled on Marie-Antoinette’s breasts? How did you behave at one of Caligula’s orgies? And what were Casanova’s best pick-up lines?

    Time Crystal 2

    Time Crystal 2

    Since Jan 21, 2010 08:23 UTC

The story so far: When Irish school teacher Sam Fitzpatrick and CERN scientist Michael Zhang are absorbed by a black hole, they find themselves outside the Universe on a planet populated by gigantic insect-like Entroilians and Argolaths. The Universe is merely part of their elaborate lifecycle. Michael breaks the crystal machinery surrounding it and fragments fall into the Universe where time stops everywhere except near these crystals. Sam can talk to people who hold crystal, and the insects think they can fix the machinery and restart time, so he tells his step-daughter Catriona O’Brien to collect all the fragments and bring them down the time tunnel. But handsome Hungarian entrepreneur Alex Karolyi knows that firefighter George Gabor will not allow crystals to be removed from CERN. When George tries to catch them Alex flees and Catriona tries to fly into the Time Tunnel. So begins an epic adventure that will take Catriona on a journey back through the whole history of the Universe. Time Crystal is a timeless adventure-romance including domains both great and small you have never experienced before. Few works of fiction have ever encompassed such a range of ideas and environments, such sheer imaginative scale.

In This Labyrinth: The Phantom of the Opera In Erik’s Times and Ours

In This Labyrinth: The Phantom of the Opera In Erik’s Times and Ours

    by

    Since Jun 12, 2018 22:00 UTC

This podcast draws on the world’s most popular musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom Of The Opera, as well as on the experience of Phanship having been a Phan myself for three odd decades now, to explore social justice and intersectionality. That said, although a lot of my exploration and analysis comes from the Lloyd Webber stage-musical, I will talk about other versions of Phantom as well, along with some of the best of Phanfiction that I’ve yet come across! And whenever possible, I’ll be interviewing fellow Phans, Phan-authors/creators, etc, to give voice to different experiences than just my own. So enjoy, and long live Phantom as a force for a better world! PSA #SaveTheBrilliantOriginal #PhantomoftheOpera! As folks may know, the London and Broadway flagship productions have been closed due to #COVID19 (read more about it on the podcast blog). So now, we need to make sure that, when they reopen, Hal Prince’s, Gillian Lynn’s and Maria Bjornson’s original vision is preserved!
