    Ideas On Trial

    Ideas On Trial

    by

    Since May 17, 2021 14:00 UTC

Undisputed ideas feed on our indifference and fear of questioning. But not in this court. Ideas on Trial is designed to finally confront them. Join the Novel Philosophy Academy team to explore uncontested ideas in the culture taken for granted for so long, so we can expand our intellectual potential and claim ownership of our lives. Through the lens of philosophy, we examine those little ideas that feed most during our snoring-awakedness. Nope. Not the nap time. Snoring-awakedness is the state where you are fully awake, but your mind is unfocused and unpurposefully noisy. We talk about ethics, life, creativity, choice, culture, happiness, business trends. Chameleons. Whatever fits in our courtroom. Purple elephants? Fits. Hulk? Smash fit. Parasites? Maybe. We love ideas and we love how they affect our whole being. By understanding their meaning and watching their real-world consequences, we can claim the freedom to become the true undisputed champions of our own lives. But it’s not just about love. Ideas on Trial is driven by justice. We deserve to live by the ideas that promote that dormant potential that we all have in our lives. Snoring is cool and is experienced best the moment you get interrupted by a vacuum cleaner. Hit subscribe — Ouch, easy!! And bon voyage.

Talking D&T is a podcast about design and technology education. Join me, Dr Alison Hardy, as I share news, views, ideas and opinions about D&T. I also talk about D&T with teachers, researchers and academics from the D&T community.
The views on this podcast are my own and of those I am interviewing and are not connected to my institution. Much of the content is work in progress. As well as talking about D&T, I use it to explore new ideas and thoughts related to D&T education and my research, which are still embryonic and may change. Consult my publications for a reliable record of my considered thoughts on the topic featured in this podcast.

Making Space for Conversations That Matter with Laura Prisc

    by

    Since Jun 11, 2019 01:11 UTC

I believe we are all longing for deeper connection with the people in our lives. We crave acknowledgment that what we do makes an impact. That who we are matters. And I’m tired of the superficial, shallow interactions that permeate most relationships. So, I am stepping off the well-beaten path to create the space to listen and explore. By “creating the space” I mean blocking out some uninterrupted time and choosing to be fully present with someone to engage in a meaningful conversation. Through Making Space for Conversations that Matter, I’ll intentionally engage in those conversations and I invite you to join me. Together, we’ll take the time to explore and discover the brilliance, creativity, and wisdom of my guests through real, honest, and heartfelt conversation about what matters most and how they’re pursuing purpose in their lives. If you’re longing for authenticity, deep meaning, significance, and powerful connection with others, this Podcast is for you!

    Detours & Destinations

    by

    Since Apr 21, 2025 15:18 UTC

Wisdom gleaned from life’s twists and turns. “May all your detours be destinations.” Rabbi David Ingber received that blessing from a dear friend many years ago and never forgot it. The echo of those words continues to resonate and inspire today. Can we reframe obstacles as opportunities? How do we recognize when a stumbling block truly is a stairway? In this new podcast, Rabbi Ingber sits down with thought leaders, changemakers, and spiritual seekers, for heart-centered conversations about the winding paths we take, and the insights gleaned along the way. These are conversations about resilience, transformation, the beauty and messiness of being human — a touchstone for listeners seeking wisdom in perilous times.
