Hello everybody, and welcome to Rise of the Podcast. Part of the joy of loving something is sharing it with others, and that’s what we want to do here. We love a lot of things: Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, LEGO, filmmaking, video games, VR, 3D printing, photography, cosplaying, and conventions. Each week, we discuss a little something from one of these topics and usually have a funny story or two. Check out our YouTube channel to see our awesome video podcast!

Computer technology: robotic milking and interactive mirrors – for iPod/iPhone

Computer technology: robotic milking and interactive mirrors – for iPod/iPhone

    by

    Since May 15, 2008 23:34 UTC

What have computers got to do with cows? Can a wooden mirror help us understand the computing behind digital image capture? Neil Rowse is the first dairy farmer in the UK to use a computerised system that gives cows control over when they are milked, and allows him to remotely monitor the welfare of individual animals. Daniel Rozin has created an computer operated mirror made from 835 tilting wooden tiles. With the help of a digital camera and a computer programme, the wooden tiles mimic the digital pixel information and tilt themselves into a ‘reflection’. This material is taken from The Open University course T224 Computers and processors.

    Would You Rather…

    Would You Rather…

    by

    Since Jun 16, 2020 07:35 UTC

Would you rather… the conversation starter where the participants can never really win. Decisions made when nothing is at stake – our answers are perhaps crowd pleasing rather than truthful. But what if these hypotheticals actually happened? What if your or your loved one’s lives depended on it? The Would You Rather… podcast is based on making choices and the repercussions which follow.

    Series 1

It’s New Year’s Eve, 2011. You’re stepping into the shoes of Melbourne based social media influencer, Kirsten Johnson (pronounced Chastine Jaw’saw).

You witness something, what happens next is up to you.

This series looks at how every decision you make, regardless of how insignificant it may seem, can completely change the direction of your life. The further you go, the harder your choices become.

Would You Rather… explores a variety of themes including sexuality and conspiracy theories.

This series hopes to open the listener’s mind, whilst being entertaining.

From the creator of Dying with Mon, Living with Mon and North East Arnhem Land with Mon,

Monika O’Hanlon brings you Australia’s first interactive podcast, Would You Rather…

    Hi – Mon here!

I’ve just released the trailer to a new series I’ve been working on. It’s called Living with Mon and it explores some of the most interesting lifestyles out there.

My favourite thing about this project was getting the opportunity to take some time and just have a chat with all these extraordinary people – some who had completely different views than my own, live polar opposite lifestyles – and I had the best time, and I feel like I really learnt a lot.

So if you’re keen to open your mind, step out of your shoes and take a stroll in someone else’s – search Living with Mon wherever you get your podcasts. Episode 1 of Living with Mon will be dropping very shortly.

I cannot wait to start this journey with you.
