    Modern Poetry in Translation

    by

    Since Jun 4, 2013 20:46 UTC

When Ted Hughes and Daniel Weissbort founded MPT in 1965 they had two principal ambitions: to get poetry out from behind the Iron Curtain into a wider circulation in English and to benefit writers and the reading public in Britain and America by confronting them with good work from abroad. They published poetry that dealt truthfully with the real contemporary world. For more than 50 years MPT has continued and widened that founding intent.

    by

    Since Jun 1, 2013 18:23 UTC

Animal News: The Podcast, four words that have never been strung together before, is a collective effort of three people. The three people are Matt, Kristin, and Jake. Occasionally, guests attend the podcast, but for the most part, we are talking about the most important things in the world, the inconsequential guests, the animals. If you like Animals, and you like News, and you like weirdly used commentaries on things that don’t matter so much, you’re going to be pleasantly surprised with Animal News: The Podcast.

Terrence Parker presents Sounds That Work

Terrence Parker presents Sounds That Work

    by

    Since Dec 12, 2019 04:25 UTC

Terrence Parker (known to many as “TP”) born and raised in Detroit, has become legendary for his quite uncommon yet skillful turntablism style of playing House Music and widely admired because he uses an actual telephone handset as headphones. Terrence’s first DJ gig was for his classmate’s eight grade graduation party in June of 1982. While a sophomore at Southfield High School in 1983, Terrence worked at his school’s radio station WSHJ 88.3 FM as an on-air DJ, and in 1988, Terrence released his first Techno EP as part of Separate Minds with Lou Robinson and Marc Kinchen. In 1993, Terrence established his own music label Intangible Records. Fast forward into 2019, Terrence has performed as a DJ in 51 countries throughout the world and has released more than 100 recordings on his Intangible Records label and various labels including Axis/Purpose Maker, Planet E, Sony, EMI, Defected, Nervous, Kingstreet, and Purple Music. Terrence has chart hits with his songs “Love’s Got Me High”, “The Question” and Number # 1 charting albums like “Life On The Back 9” and “Detroit After Dark”. His 2019 “Omnipotent” album on Quantize Recordings and remix for Jeff Mills’ “IF” (featuring Merachka) on Axis/Purpose Maker show Terrence to be a driving force in today’s global music market. Terrence has played at the world’s top rated clubs and festivals including Movement Festival (Detroit), Ministry Of Sound (London), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Djoon (Paris), Output (NYC), El Row (Barcelona), Propaganda (Moscow), and Fabric (Madrid). He has established himself as one of electronic music’s legendary Producer/DJs. www.terrenceparkermusic.com tp@terrenceparkermusic.com

Lawyers and law professors Claudia Flores and Tom Ginsburg have traveled the world getting into the weeds of global human rights debates. On Entitled, they use that expertise to explore the stories and thorny questions around why rights matter and what’s the matter with rights. Entitled is produced with the support of University of Chicago Law School and Yale Law School, and is part of the award winning University of Chicago Podcast Network.

    podcast – absolutely intercultural!

    podcast – absolutely intercultural!

    by

    Since Dec 2, 2022 10:00 UTC

Welcome to the first ever intercultural podcast. ‘Absolutely Intercultural!’ is its name and, as far as we know, this is the first podcast in the world to deal with intercultural issues. We’ll be releasing a new episode every second Friday at lunchtime, looking at all aspects of human intercultural communication. For example, we’ll be hearing from students on foreign work placements, asking how teachers can make use of intercultural exercises and simulations in their classroom and sharing with you any intercultural stories we come across. ‘Absolutely Intercultural!’ won’t be so much about passing on information but more about starting an intercultural dialogue between the makers, and you, the contributors and listeners. The hosts of the show are Anne Fox (CV2, Denmark) and Dr. Elmar-Laurent Borgmann (RheinAhrCampus, Germany).
