    Killing Lorenzen: Love•Basketball•Murder

Lorenzen Wright’s voice was last heard on a desperate 911 call in July of 2010, but his story — and the path that led him to that moment — began long before that fateful night.

WREG TV began covering Wright from the time he emerged on the local high school basketball scene in Memphis in the early 1990s, through his college playing days at the University of Memphis and his 13-year run in the NBA, including playing on his home turf with the Memphis Grizzlies. He was considered by many to be a shining star.

Killing Lorenzen: Love | Basketball | Murder is an investigative podcast by WREG’s investigative team about the life and death of Lorenzen Wright, and his ex-wife Sherra Wright, now sitting behind bars after pleading guilty to facilitating his murder, nearly nine years to the day later.

Moriarty brings almost three decades of experience as a lawyer and reporter involved in murder cases — she brushes past the speculation to the evidence and talks to the people directly involved, including investigators and the families of victims. Follow along Erin’s journey as she goes beyond the scene of each crime, behind prison walls, and into the killers’ inner thoughts. It’s all on this season of “My Life of Crime”.

Often, truth isn’t handed down from public officials but comes from listening to other voices. Once a week, you can hear a wide variety of views from people who shape our corner of the world in New York’s Capital Region. The Altamont Enterprise is the weekly newspaper of record for Albany County, New York.

We’ve talked with a Buddhist who provided therapy for Gilda Radner and then helped set up Gilda’s Club after she died; with a Muslim woman who is trying to educate people about her religion as she feels increased hatred; with an African-American man who, as a teenager, helped ferry people north from a town in Mississippi haunted by lynchings.
