Can judicious spontaneity in performance model the timely wisdom needed in our social institutions? Does improvised music preface grassroots democratic deliberation? Produced and Hosted by Rachel Elliott, a PhD candidate in Philosophy, Sound It Out is a fun, easy-listening exploration and reflection on the present, past, and future of jazz, creative, and contemporary music, and all nature of sound experiment. Broadcast in Guelph, Ontario on CFRU 93.3FM on Tuesdays at 5pm. Produced with the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation. Art by Justin Karas.

    by

    Since Sep 10, 2021 02:00 UTC

Hi, I’m Carla Gover, an Appalachian musician, flatfoot dancer, mama, and DREAMER from Kentucky. I’m on a mission to share fierce love, good humor, and inspiration to help you live a life of creative freedom. I decided to start the What Dreamers Do Podcast to help answer the question: How can we use our gifts and talents to build a better world, and have fun along the way? You’ll also find musings about Appalachia as well as interesting conversations with songwriters, poets, dancers, educators, world-changers, social justice warriors, and other people like you who are working to make a difference using their art, their skills, or just the way they live their lives. On every episode, you’ll hear ideas, conversations, and actionable items to help you unlock your creativity and live your purpose. Grab a mason jar full of sweet tea (or something a little stronger) and pull up a chair, cause it’s time to get YOUR dream on!

We’re a community who envision a world that’s more Just, Equitable, Decolonized and Inclusive (JEDI). We’re changing the way we see ourselves and each other, and shifting our worldview on business by looking through a JEDI lens.I’m your host, Rosie Yeung (she/her), a Chinese-Canadian immigrant with invisible disabilities, and I’m a JEDI speaker, coach and facilitator. Do you also want to be a JEDI Warrior for social impact? Then please join me in Changing Lenses! Each episode is hosted on colonized land that was taken from many Indigenous nations, including the Anishinaabe, the Huron-Wendat, and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. I seek Truth and Reconciliation with First Nations, Inuit and Métis people of Turtle Island, and I call upon us all to decolonize our thinking, not just our systems.
