This Queer Book Saved My Life!

    by

    Since Jun 21, 2022 08:00 UTC

Fans of On Being and Los Culturistas love this indie where LGBTQ guests share the queer books that saved their lives with the authors who wrote them. Featuring Carmen Maria Machado, Alison Bechdel, Jennifer Finney Boylan, Greg Louganis, Becky Albertalli, and so many more, guests from across the rainbow tell these authors how their books helped them overcome alienation, gender dysphoria, familial homophobia, and being outed. Essayist, educator, and Lambda Literary Fellow J.P. Der Boghossian hosts the conversations with a gentle and energetic style, standing in as conversational partner for posthumous authors. A bonus feature is 7 Minutes in Book Heaven, where J.P. interviews queer authors about their exciting new releases for us to love and cuddle up with. thisqueerbook.com @thisqueerbook

Subscribe to “Daddy Issues” podcast on your favorite podcast player platform! “This show is BRILLIANT from start to finish. Uplifting, funny, and as real as it gets. Bravo!”- D1A1P (Apple Podcasts)

Deep Dive with Shawn C. Fettig

    by

    Since May 5, 2022 23:00 UTC

As a political scientist, I’ve created this show to explore issues of politics, government, history, queer lives and more through insightful conversations in a long-form format. While many podcasts focus on surface-level news analysis, Deep Dive goes deeper. In this podcast, I sit down with authors, researchers, activists, politicians, and fellow queer folks for candid discussions on critical issues related to politics, issues facing the LGBTQ+ community, and more. Though we dive into weighty topics, there’s no punditry – just nuance, empathy, and perspectives you won’t find elsewhere. If These Ovaries Could Talk

    If These Ovaries Could Talk

    by

    Since Jan 15, 2018 14:00 UTC

The show all about family; but with gay! Queer mom, Jaimie Kelton, humorously goes in-depth with weekly LGBTQIA+ guests about their families; how they made them, and how they show up in a world that wasn’t necessarily designed for them. The mission is to normalize, elevate and celebrate, while confirming that we’re just like other parents, trying not to yell at our kids when they still haven’t put their shoes on and we’re 25 minutes late for school. The end result is a compelling podcast that amusingly explores the age-old question: what’s it like to live as an LGBTQ family in a world built for the straights?

    Why I Stay

    Why I Stay

    by

    Since Jan 6, 2022 23:16 UTC

There are lots of podcasts and articles about why so many people are leaving religion, but a more interesting question to ask is why people stay, especially those who have been judged, shamed, demonized, or abused by their religious communities. In Why I Stay, we tell stories of faithfulness in the face of judgement, hurt, and betrayal.

Mat Tales: 40 Years of Gay Adventures

Mat Tales: 40 Years of Gay Adventures

    by

    Since Sep 10, 2021 06:00 UTC

MAT TALES: 40 YEARS OF GAY ADVENTURES = Autobiographical Erotica Stories from 40 Years of Gay Sexual Adventures. {NEW EPISODE Every Monday at Midnight EST.} In the 80’s and early 90’s, a time of no internet, no cameras and no phones, the outside world was a meeting place for gay men to find each other. To perfect the art of cruising. To negotiate your desires in person. To experience the thrill of moving in the shadows, behind the park trees, or around the alley corner. I lived in New York before the last pier closed. I sat nervously in the back of the Gaiety Theatre watching Russian strippers and followed my first NYC trick to a by-the-hour Times Square Hotel. I danced at Palladium and know every sexy rock in the Central Park Ramble. My apartment was off Castro Street in San Francisco, and I visited the Mack Club when it was a condemned old house in SOMA. I’ve lived in Miami Beach and fucked under the stars on the dunes and in convertibles, driving European boys around on tour. I’ve been in monogamous relationships and open ones, and have experienced love and heartbreak of every kind. I’ve learned to accept my kinks and my history as a part of who I am and to embrace the lessons, the thrills and the pain of it all as my truth. Sex + Truth = A Lifelong Journey. My stories. MAT TALES. I hope they make you feel all the things. Also check out the podcast SEX CLUB: MAT TALES AFTER HOURS, with interviews with guests about gay sex through the last five decades, from cruising to phone lines to apps and cams. You’ll hear tales from other guys and get to tell your own. Each episode of SEX CLUB will feature an aural moment, because you should never leave SEX CLUB until you get what you want.

    Cocktail Theology

    Cocktail Theology

    by

    Since Aug 16, 2018 08:00 UTC

Life and God from a very broadly Christian perspective, with no filter, over cocktails. Progressive, Biblically grounded, LGBTQ-affirming, candid discussions about faith, life, politics, roller coasters, sex, and anything else that matters. ABOUT THE HOSTS Benton Stokes is a songwriter, a recording artist, an author, a worship leader, a podcaster, a collector of comic books, a lover of roller coasters, a dad, a friend, and (with ministry partner Elane O’Rourke) half of School For Seekers. Benton has a passion for helping post-Evangelicals, particularly queer men, find their way to healthy theology and healing perspectives. Benton co-hosts (with Elane) Cocktail Theology — a podcast that tackles topics such as defining what an abomination actually is, exploring why Christians and science are at odds all the time, and reclaiming Christian-ese language like “born again.” All while sipping tasty libations. Rev. Dr. Elane O’Rourke is a spiritual director, lifelong teacher, theologian, mom, contemplative, Enneagram 1, and a bunch of the things Benton wrote. She was a philosophy prof for a decade, a pastor for another decade, and the instigator of School For Seekers since 2014. Elane’s first book was A Dallas Willard Dictionary, written to explain the difficult words of Christian philosopher Dallas Willard, which may explain her role in the podcast she co-hosts with Benton, Cocktail Theology. Elane’s deepest desire, and life’s work, is for you to believe that you are God’s cherished and beloved child, worthy of care and respect.
