    Raising Grace

    by

    Since Oct 21, 2022 14:00 UTC

Sheila Chester is a mother of three children. Two of which came through adoption and one through fertility treatments. Her 11 year struggle to build her dream of becoming a mother is what is driving her to learn more about other parents. What makes us so unique? It seems like we are doing this job of raising kids alone, but there are many who experience similar struggles and joys. Lets share our chaotic and wonderful lives as parents. We raise our children differently but we all have one thing in common, we love them fiercely. Take a listen, maybe you will find a parent who struggles or succeeds in the same ways you do. We parents can be so hard on ourselves. Let’s come together to realize, raising kids deserves a large amount grace for ourselves and our kids. Being a parent is hard. How can we raise our children in the hardest of times with grace? How can we as parents of young children come together and encourage each other to see their child with grace and understanding? I am an amateur parent like the rest of us. Lets support one another with love and grace

Court-Side Moms, in depth conversations with NBA, WNBA, and professional players mothers

    by

    Since Jun 3, 2020 05:00 UTC

Bright lights, centre court, multimillion dollar contracts and adoring fans. That’s what most of us imagine when we think of the world of professional athletes. But what is the story behind the images? What does the road to stardom look like? What does it take to get there? Who better to answer these questions and many more, than the moms who were there every step of the way.“Court-Side Moms” is the first of its kind to focus solely on the experiences of professional basketball player’s mothers, giving us a new perspective on the lives of some of our favorite athletes. We explore the thoughts, feelings and experiences of those moms who have watched their children join the elite world of pro sports. The joys, the challenges, the heart aches, the big and small moments that transformed their lives and those of their children. No one understands this better than Wendy Sparks, the mother of Toronto Raptors Center, Khem Birch and the host of Court-side Moms. Wendy will sit down with other basketball moms to hear their stories, creating the first platform for moms to kick back and chat about their kids, and to discuss the reality of raising high performance athletes.

A Mom’s Retreat With Lynn Lyons, LICSW

    Since Apr 5, 2020 19:14 UTC

Parenting isn’t easy, and it’s normal to worry. Lynn Lyons, therapist, author, and speaker is one of the world’s experts on helping parents, kids, and teens manage anxiety. She talks with co-host and sister-in-law Robin Hutson in a weekly podcast full of laughs, and practical advice without the psychobabble. At the beginning of the pandemic, Lynn and Robin started the Flusterclux podcast when their parenting retreats went on hiatus, and they’re now 2 years in, talking about anxiety and worry, their love for Mr. Rogers, and the crazy things the mental health field gets WRONG about anxiety. Anxiety Expert Lynn Lyons has been a therapist for over 30 years. She’s an author of 3 books with a new one coming out in October and has traveled around the US and Canada training hundreds of audiences teachers, school nurses, counselors and parents about managing anxiety. Flusterclux represents that feeling of overwhelm. Each episode is filled with practical advice for parents how to better manage their worry and big feelings like anger and sadness so that they are modeling healthy emotional awareness. Lynn answers listener questions and gives parents concrete strategies for developing the traits that are their kids’ best defenses against anxiety and depression later in life: flexibility, resilience, autonomy, and problem solving. New episodes every Friday at 5AM EST. Find us at flusterclux.com https://www.facebook.com/flusterclux https://www.instagram.com/flusterclux/

Podcasts for mums – Mothers Who Work: For mums who are SERIOUS about making money

Podcasts for mums – Mothers Who Work: For mums who are SERIOUS about making money

    by

    Since May 19, 2011 23:33 UTC

The Mothers Who Work podcast welcomes mums at all stages of raising their family and business. We also welcome working mums who are navigating the corporate world. Here you will find tools and tips for mums who are serious about making money – covering everything that makes the daily juggle all the more easier from work politrics (no typo), to family and relationships to keeping sane! Hosted by Joycellyn Akuffo, the founder and editor of Motherswhowork.co.uk.

She’s like the new recruit at work that just blows his own trumpet and makes everything about him: Corona!

We won’t get not the politics, the medical evidence, conspiracy theories or anything like that here! Not because I want to sit on the fence on those issues – I really don’t. But it’s because I want to focus on the learning outcomes. This is the one area we have some control over.

In this podcast, I discuss how we should approach the impact of the lockdown, and the takeaways that every parent needs to have – and what to do about them.
