Connecting the Classics is a weekly competitive radio hour, in which hosts Lee Robinson and Will Hagle connect two classic albums using tangential music references, Kevin Bacon style. Each week, Lee picks an album and Will picks an album. They play songs from their chosen albums and discuss them, then weave webs using other songs and artists, resulting in six songs of separation (Kevin Bacon style). Points are awarded for good connections but the points don’t matter (Whose Line Is It Anyway style).

Barriers are down with stories abound! Tales from the Greenroom Special Edition (Sweetwater Music Hall’s 50th Anniversary Series) Mount Tam Media is thrilled to launch its Tales From the Green Room Podcast with a special series of episodes celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the iconic Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, California. The roster of artists that have crowded onto the club’s little stages, first at the original Sweetwater location two blocks away, and now at the new location which opened in 2013, reads like a Who’s Who of roots & rock music: Bob Weir, Aaron Neville, Big Mama Thornton, Carlos Santana, Elvis Costello, Etta James, Greg Allman, Van Morrison… the list of musical luminaries is endless. In the 80’s, the Times of London hailed Sweetwater as one of the best nightclubs in America and the legacy continues! Mount Tam Media has been granted special access to Sweetwater’s green room during the venue’s 50th anniversary year to interview musicians, photographers, managers and the like, and capture their favorite moments and memories, preserving the untold secrets of what has graced these hallowed walls for half a century, before they are lost forever.

Quartet for Two is a light-hearted game about composers and an excuse to talk about music in a silly and opinionated way. Presented by composer Arthur Keegan and radio producer David Fay, the format allows playful discussion of classical music through the ages – littered with mistakes and half-baked opinions.
The game is inspired by QuartetTM the Composer Card Game © 2023 Margit van der Zwan. Buy this beautiful and brilliant game at www.quartetgames.com
Game play:
We use a deck of cards each featuring a composer from the 9th Century right up to the present. We draw a card each, discuss the composers and their music and then – using whatever metric we like – decide who goes through to the next round. There are also some silly wild cards thrown in to mess things up. The point isn’t who wins the game (it’s usually Bach) but just having a fun time thinking and chatting about great music.
