    2 Moms, No Filter

    Since Jun 12, 2019 03:27 UTC

We’re moms of teens and tweens, we’re nurses, and we’re trying to keep it all together while raising SIX kids between us! Oh, and we’re best friends. One of us is happily married, the other one is happily divorced. We know what it’s like to juggle EVERYTHING while trying not to lose your mind! If you need to unwind, pour yourself some magic coffee, and hang with us while we attempt to figure it all out.

Where do we even start?! Catching up with Melissa before she heads back to her travel assignment, we cover all sorts of things and screentime is one of them. Death by Bloody Mary Bar, farts, the ABC After School Special, and what the hell does BTS stand for? We’re talking about all the things.

Kelsey B., there’s not an H in your name, so we apologize for that one straight away (but we’ll still pronounce it with one)

    Bubble Pizza Recipe

BTS stands for Bangtan Boys. No, we don’t know how those initials came to be, either.

So, Danielle was thinking of the movie, “Desperate Lives” when she was talking about the ABC After School Special, but it’s on the same sort of “cautionary” tale that saturated the teen TV market in the late 70s/early 80s. Enjoy Helen Hunt getting peer pressured by some dreamy dolt of a guy to try crank, and watch as she jumps through a window, unscathed. You’re welcome.

    Almost a Nurse

    Almost a Nurse

    by

    Since Mar 29, 2006 18:51 UTC

A podcast about my life in general, and my life as a nursing student. I will be graduating soon, but even as I get deeper into my career, I will always feel the need to do my job better. Even twenty years from now, I will see myself as “almost a nurse.” The format of the show is fairly simple. I start with a brief intro and an update on my life. Following that is time set aside for big topics, interviews, etc. This is interspersed with awesome music! Now that I have said all that, I should warn you that this show has serious identity issues…you never know what it’s going to be about! Please email me at almostanurse@gmail.com with any questions or comments. See http://homepage.mac.com/sean.elliott/iblog for my blog and shownotes. Enjoy!

We provide education and professional development opportunities for those working in child protection. Our mission is to improve the lives and safety of children by working with those in the sector to provide research, representation, training, and support.

An Untimely Death on Passchendaele Ward – for iPod/iPhone

    by

    Since Apr 26, 2009 21:03 UTC

Everyone has their own perspective on mental health, especially those who have experienced it. ‘An untimely death on Passchendaele Ward’ is written and performed by members ‘The Orphans of Beulah’ – a theatre group consisting of mental health service users and survivors. It is a modern day farce focusing on life in a Mental Health Institution. A death on the the ward leads to a lot of questions being asked. There are nurses self-medicating, patients acting as nurses, commissioners turning a blind eye. Who turns out on top, and what actually did happen that fateful night on Passchendaele Ward? In two of the audio tracks, service users, professionals and practitioners comment on the drama an some of the issues it raises. In the remaining audio tracks, Jonathan Leach of The Open University’s School of Health and Social Welfare explains why the drama was commissioned, and how it fits in with the aims of the course. He also gives an overview of the course and who it’s aimed at, and talks about how he came to be involved in mental health education. This material forms part of K225, Diverse perspectives on mental health.

    Since Aug 4, 2020 06:59 UTC

SHIFT Talk is a podcast that brings nurses together to talk about the challenges we’re facing—on and off the clock. This season, we’re interviewing nurses who are working to ensure all patients can access the resources and care they need to be healthy. In other words, it’s all about health equity. We’re going beyond the clinical and looking at the social factors that impact health—from a person’s zip code, to their education, to their job. Even structural racism. No healthcare provider knows more about patients’ lives than nurses, right? We can really make an impact here.
