    Don’t Send Flowers

Don’t Send Flowers: An open and honest conversation on how we ALL deal with painful life experiences, feel our way through them, and hopefully make it out better people than we were before. Each interview will explore a vast array of life changing moments. We’ll discuss how they coped, adjusted, grieved and ultimately what steps they took to move through the experience to find their way. My hope is that through openly sharing our stories we no longer feel isolated in grief and have a greater understanding of how to show up for each other in our times of need.

    Exhibit C

    Exhibit C

    by

    Since Jul 29, 2024 07:00 UTC

We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. But what happens when we can’t trust them? Dr. Death is the award-winning series hosted by Laura Beil, now in its fourth season: Bad Magic.

Need more Dr. Death? With Wondery+, you can listen to all episodes, unlock exclusive content, get early access to upcoming episodes, and enjoy an always ad-free experience. Start your free trial in the Wondery App or visit wondery.com/links/dr-death/ now.

When a charismatic young doctor announces revolutionary treatments for cancer and HIV, patients from around the world turn to him for their last chance. As medical experts praise Serhat Gumrukcu’s genius, the company he co-founded rockets in value to over half a billion dollars. But when a team of researchers makes a startling discovery, they begin to suspect the brilliant doctor is hiding a secret.

Season 3: Paolo is a smart and handsome surgeon, renowned for his ability to perform surgeries that transform his patients’ lives. When television producer Benita covers him for a story, he’ll transform her life too, but not in the ways she expects. As Benita crosses professional lines to be with him, she learns how far Paolo will go to protect his secrets. And halfway around the world, four doctors at a prestigious medical institute make shocking discoveries of their own that call everything into question.

Season 2: If someone you love is diagnosed with cancer you want them to get the best treatment from the best doctors. In 2013, patients in Michigan thought Farid Fata was that doctor. Between his prestigious education, years of experience and pleasant bedside manner, Fata was everything you could want in a doctor. But he was not who he appeared to be. From Wondery, this is the story of hundreds of patients in Michigan, a doctor, and a poisonous secret.

Season 1: We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. We trust the person at the other end of that scalpel. We trust the hospital. We trust the system. Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain, and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away. But soon his patients started to experience complications, and the system failed to protect them. Which begs the question: who – or what – is that system meant to protect? From Wondery, the network behind the hit podcast Dirty John, Dr. Death is a story about a charming surgeon, 33 patients and a spineless system.

    One Mama between Two Worlds

    One Mama between Two Worlds

    by

    Since Jul 8, 2020 06:00 UTC

A podcast about a Mother’s grief, guilt, and unthinkable loss. Your grief is unique, it is yours but you do not need to carry it alone. Stories of loss and plans moving forward, pregnancy, birthing after loss, and the agonising decision of stopping before you are ready. Not every storm ends with a rainbow but every storm does end. This podcast was designed to give you the space for healing and calm during the shifting sands of your loss. There is no time limit on grief and although you move forward you will never forget. Sharing these stories, lighting the way so that hearing the words eases the pain felt after a chemical pregnancy, miscarriage, or recurrent pregnancy loss. You did not deserve this – you are not to blame and you are doing the best you can right now. Grief comes in waves and it is ok to feel overwhelmed. Facing an unimaginable future without a much-wanted baby is unbearable and feeling alone only magnifies the grief. Nobody is prepared to walk this journey, it is never one that is wanted, so give yourself grace as you forge this new path. You are allowed to feel pain and sadness, blame, and emptiness but with time you will feel joy again.

Philosophy and the Human Situation – Audio

Philosophy and the Human Situation – Audio

    by

    Since Jun 23, 2009 01:06 UTC

Philosophy and philosophical enquiries are relevant in some shape or form to many aspects of everyday life, for example our treatment of the environment, the rapidity of today’s technological progress, whether animals should have rights and if so how they should compare to ours. Philosophy also encompasses questions about the existence of God, how life is sustained on earth, and even at what point should the Government intrude on a person’s freedom. This album introduces the study of philosophy and the human situation, and contains talks and debates from leading philosophical thinkers and teachers, past and present. This material forms part of The Open University course A211 Philosophy and the human situation.

    by

    Since Mar 30, 2017 20:20 UTC

Pain Reframed is a podcast for physical therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapy assistants and other health care providers about pain and how pain is managed in our society. Pain is a large issue right now and we will bring powerful and helpful insights on how we can manage pain in a much more efficient and effective way. Pain Reframed is committed to changing language and practice patterns across disciplines and points of care in order to reduce the unnecessary suffering that results from the propagation of misinformation, insufficient understanding of the pain experience, and the over-medicalization of pain in society. Dr. Tim Flynn and Dr. Jeff Moore will share their expertise, as well as the expertise from others in the medical and psychological fields, about pain management and our roles in dealing with pain. We want to create a sustainable, multi-disciplinary, international conversation on pain.
